Skylanders.com has added Battlegrounds and Lost Islands to their legal-eze in the footer, hopefully we'll get some more info on them soon:

@Buzz, I was only speculating which isn't considered trolling though if some variants aren't available in the USA like GITD Cynder. My guess is that I'll have to buy it off from a scalper as I really don't care about prices

Not always. Lost Islands looks like it's based on the DragonVale style game model and although some copies of that encourage more spending than others, DragonVale itself can be experienced in it's entirety without spending anything. Many other games of that ilk are the same.

That'll be the strange varient Double Trouble that we saw in the images of all the figures then - wonder if it'll work with Giants too.

Poor selection for characters there! Another freaking S2 Cynder? Another Jet Vac? Royal Double Trouble is not enough of a motivation to jump on board for me. Swap Cynder for White Whirlwind or Emerald Flashwing and this pack would have sold like crazy.

Will the platinum treasure chest open the same chests as the original one?

Wow! Thanks for making this happen BTBG! Definitely lots of missing info from just one image: Nothing here confirms Bluetooth connectivity, what size is the portal, will Giants characters be in the game, will this portal support Lightcore features, will this portal be compatible with other Bluetooth enabled systems...

But this confirms that this game isn't Giants at all. We're going to need a breakout forum for Battlegrounds (and maybe Lost Islands too).

you can clearly tell that cynder and jet vac are actual pictures (possibly just taken from the regular starter pack) and double trouble and the chest are placeholders. I imagine we will be seeing better soon.

I know it is SL Battelgrounds, not SL Giants but I still would have thought a giant fig in the box would have been on the cards?

EDIT: Any word on release date? Ballpark? I'm guessing pre-XMas, right? I am also keen to find out if the treasure chest from SSA works the same as this one?

Taking into consideration the photo of Purple Double Trouble from the TfB cabinet, I still can't quite grasp why they are using a series 1 Mold of DT and not a Series2 one for this pack. My mind boggles.

That is because the Series 2 might possibly have different upgrades than the Series 1 Double Trouble.

He means the translucent acrylic base on the portal...green for S:SA, orange for S:G, and it looks like blue for S:B. And I agree it's probably blue for Bluetooth!
