I was on the Smyths website (toys.ie) and I found something weird,a Giants Starter pack for apple devices for €49.99
I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of this?

Gasp! Looks like the rumor is true. Skylanders has more games coming out for mobile devices!

Well, this is unexpected! I believed we'd see the rumored future iOS games eventually, but I didn't expect a Portal and everything. Neat-o!

I'm really interested in finding out what Bluetooth spec they use. This portal may work on the computer and even the consoles that support Bluetooth.

Unfortunately, most developers are not focussing on Android as much now as the games are too easy to pirate.

have you ever owned an ios device? if you jailbreak it you can pirate everything. but i think iphone people arent as smart as android people. so piracy isnt as big of a problem.
also there are some really locked down games on android. some are just ridiculously hard to crack. and also.. this is a app that requires hardware and toys, and people wont be able to pirate that..

Please don't shoot the messenger. I only "own" an iPhone as the company I work for provided me one. I personally dislike Apple products for numerous reasons.

If you like, I am happy to cite references that the gaming industry is largely avoiding the Android market - I don't care either way and don't have a dog in this fight. I am merely reporting the industry buzz and offering it as a possible rationale for Activision.

Well regardless of Android devices, personally I can't believe they're making an iOS game pack over a PC version of the game. That was easily the best of the console versions last time if you ask me.

i wasnt trying to sound mean or anything to you. just trying to say that ios stuff is just as easy to pirate as android. but standard apple user pays for everything (cause they dont know how to pirate)

To be fair it does come with three Skylanders and a Portal and Chest, but STILL. A PC version would have been infinitely better even if we had to wait for it. Really not expecting these new games to be anything special. In fact, Cloud Patrol itself should have been a minigame on Universe. £50 for some mobile stuff? No thanks. I'll probably end up buying it anyway but this is an effort I really can't appreciate.

Sounds interesting. I enjoy playing games on my iPod touch so a Skylanders starter pack for it would be great. I'll also have another Skylanders game to use my figures with. I'll probably get this, the Xbox 360 booster pack and 3DS starter pack eventually.

Now if they really want people to buy this they need to completely swap out the 3 characters included in the pack. At the very least they need a different Giant or variant of Tree Rex. Now if they went all out and included Thumpback, Sprocket, and S2 Spyro, they would sell them in a flash.

They REALLY need to change up the lineup of characters since it's only to be sold as a starter pack. I would guess over 80% of people that would be interested in buying it would already have a starter or booster of the console version.

Hmm... Interestingly, the website says "3 Core Characters". The "Core" name is the official distinction of regular Skylanders (they most likely got the term from a press release from Activision). This includes new and Series 2 and doesn't include Giants and Lightcore characters. Does that mean that Giants for iOS doesn't actually include... A Giant.

Even if a giant isn't included they need to do like they did for the 3DS version of SSA and include a Skylander not available in wave 1 (Like Ignitor for SSA) and maybe an exclusive version of another skylander (Like Dark Spyro for SSA or Punch Pop Fizz for SG).

All I'm saying is that I'd be MUCH more likely to buy this pack if it doesn't include the same old same old that included in all the other starter/booster packs. Wow, this is interesting news. I'll definitely pick up the Android version if they end up releasing one on either Google Play or Amazon Appstore. I'm not investing in buying any more overpriced Apple products or playing this on the horrendously small screen of my iPod Touch. To those who are truthfully concerned about this, I'm sure piracy won't be a concern since they're going to have users use a bundled bluetooth portal, good old reliable Activision, using peripherals to combat piracy. So yea, anyways, there isn't a good reason besides programming laziness to not release it on Android too. Cloud Patrol works just fine on Android.

I think they'll need the portal,so you'll have to get it,like most apptivity games

Just had a thought, maybe a sidekicks centric IOS game would be a cool way to use the side kicks (Including tiny Thumpback or tiny Eye Brawl).
