I have per-ordered both the 3ds starter pack for $22 and the 360 starter pack for $56 (Thanks to a best buy E3 sale)
Trouble is I really only want to go with one since I don't need two Tree Rex and Series 2 Cinder in my collection.
I'm leaning towards the 3ds version since I really had to force myself to finish the first game and at this point I care more about collecting the figures then the game itself.
The trouble is if I go 3ds will it be possible to buy normal Jet Vac by himself later on?

Get the Xbox version. You know it is better.

Thing is, we don't know wether Jet-Vac will be in a Single as his regular. So if you want to collect everything there isn't really a better choice. However, for the sake of how much more people will scalp Punch Pop Fizz, I would say go with the 3DS Starter.

Well I figure there are good odds they will release a Jet-Vac single so that people who buy the Portal Owners pack will have a chance to pick him up. I might end up having to wait until the last wave thought which kind of sucks.
It would save me Nearly $40 to go with the 3ds version, Plus $10 more if I decide not to get a normal Pop Fizz since I don't bother with variants.

I say 3DS.
because they said every character would be in a single except tree rex, in fact, can some one back me up with a link for that? plus it's fun and ssa 3DS was more difficult, and it looks the same as the previous one here. but it is your choice, not mine. |

I'd recommend the Wii starter pack because Xbox one could have glitches

What? They are the same thing, other than the fact Wii nerfs them down a bit, but the same thing!

They want to decide based on figures, not game. Basically, they're asking: Punch Pop Fizz or standard Jet-Vac? |

Yah I could have sworn they had said that about every character being in a single (Other then Tree rex) but I can't find documentation of them saying it. Still if it's true it makes my decision a whole lot easier.

The premise has been that all figs, except Tree Rex given that you can't own any version of the game without getting him, will be available in a single.
That said, it is not an either/or decision, you could always buy the console version, remove the Jet Vac and resell it for a bit less to recoup the overall cost. That is what I am doing with the 3DS version...

I'm getting both 360 and the 3ds pack but if you want the 3ds one more get that because all figures should be available in single packs

Azz01 makes a good point, only regular Jet-Vac will be available for Wave One, unless you plan to get the Legendary, while regular Pop Fizz will be out.

Who said I didn't have that system too? However I prefer Achievements to trophies so if it's multiplatform I usually get the 360 version unless it's a game that was made with ps3 in mind like Final fantasy. Plus with the first skylanders The xbox version hooked into the usb port while the ps3 required batteries and I'd rather not mess around with batteries if I can help it.

I like both versions but if I had to choose one, I'd choose the console version for the sole reason that I get to play it on the big screen. Also the console game felt more like you "were" the portal master. The 3DS version made you select only two Skylanders to bring to each level and didn't allow you to switch in new ones while in the level.
