First of all, I'd like to apologize now if anyone was mislead by this topic title. :3

This thread is going to be for anyone to report any sightings of Giants figured in stores before the release date. Please make a report only if you have seen them in person. We already know scalpers have been putting figures on eBay, we just need to know if they're on the shelves yet!

People have yet to see them on the pegs in store, but preorders are already being received, mainly the Dragonfire Cannon (mine's due tommorrow!) and I have 2 preorders that supposedly are coming from UK, and say that they're shipping a week before the game comes out, which is even earlier for me, since I live in the USA.

I believe that the person selling them on eBay is working for a store that received their shipments that weren't suppose to be sold until later, but he took them out of their shipment boxes from the back and purchased them early anyway (which is against policy). I'm sure that most stores have their shipment boxes now in the back and will bring the characters out once Activision gives them the okay.

I've heard of several people saying they've seen the pegs themselves in stores, but no figures on the pegs. My own TRU already has pegs and stickers on their shelves for Giants, but no figures. I know a lot of people have already gotten their Dragonfire Cannons via online preordering, but not in stores. Anything else you preordered won't be out until the release dates for Giants, and as I said, this is for people to report seeing figures before the release date.

Some selfish employee probably took Pop Fizz from the back and threw his box away so they could sneak him out without getting caught.

^ If I were you, I would have picked it up, examine it and bring it to the customer service desk so they can check up on their employees or make sure that someone didn't steal it. I would bring it home (if it was empty of course and if the store didn't know how it got there so I wouldn't be stealing). Did you at least take a picture of it and what store was it?

Um.. no? why would I take a picture? I don't bring cameras into stores.

^ Sorry, I meant with a phone. If you don't mind me asking, what store was it (not where the store is but what kind of story such as Target, Toys'R'Us, ect.)?

I hope I find some Skylanders Giants today in Walmart...

A friend of mine said he saw Giants at TRU as well.

If he's saying he just saw them on shelves for sale I don't think he was telling the truth.

I shown him a picture of the Dragonfire Cannon pack. He said the packs he saw had the same color of orange on the sides of the boxes. And he looked and sounded serious. So I am pretty sure he is telling the truth.

They've been hitting some stores early but they won't be put on pegs until the release date.

The figures you see on eBay are put up there by employees.

(stinkin' scalpers, selling figures early for inflated prices ) Nothing, nothing. I just don't like it that employees should take it from the stock.

Unfortunately TRU just does not care. Bottom line. I can't tell you how many horror stories I've read from former TRU employees about how negligent management is in general in that store nationwide.

TRU could lose their right for keeping Skylanders Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders Giants toys if they continue with breaking the street date

There is an employee at our local TRU who would hoard all of the Wham-shells and sell them on eBay whenever they came in so they never actually hit the shelves (an employee I talk to there told me all about it)... so awful and super annoying, he was the last character i needed for the longest time!! lol

No giants at my Walmart today, but they did have camo, warnado, & zook.

Went to Best Buy and TRU in Louisville, KY today, no Giants. Though TRU did have a ton of Giants related crap like flashlights and binoculars. Pretty much just junk that has Skylanders slapped on it.

I wonder if Walmart has the Exclusive Glow In The Dark Starter Pack advertisement in their store

Okay... this time I saw an employee give a six year old Camo and Fright Rider... this TRU must be shut down.

really, a child being sold a figure they cannot use until the actual game is released? Its like preloading PC games...a big whatever. Just means you have something ready to go but cannot use it until the appropriate time. Calm down..those caffeinated sugary sodas are messing with your heads!

They could, but I don't think they will. They have a huge contract with Activision and although breaking the street date is also breaking the contract, the advertisement Toys R Us does for the series is too good for Activision to care.

Then again...

The manager at the TRU I have semi-near me here in Oz made it very clear when I went in to pre-order Leg Bouncer - they will have stock in some time before formal release date and if another store breaks street date, then they will to as then all bets are off.

I called my local TRU yesterday and just asked the simple question "do you have any skylanders" and they currently have zero. I havent been to the stores very recently...so im not sure if any have made it to the shelves yet

I wonder if the shelves are being cleared for giants...

i went to 2 toys r us that are near me. nobody knew ANYTHING about giants. but both of them were in the middle of moving a ton of stuff off the wall near the skylanders, like they were making room for something else.

They are. When I went to my local TRU they still had their SSA stuff up, but the entire wall next to it was completely bare, except for the pegs that were labeled with Giants stuff.

Same experience here too, I went to TRU today (Friday) and they had cleared out a large area next to the current stock of Skylanders SA stuff... they had also restocked a large amount of new SA figures since Wed when I was there last, so it would seem as though they're not trying to clear out the old stuff

I don't think the thread title was misleading at all. Some people just like to complain.

I thought it was perfectly obvious what the thread was about and really appreciate the OP starting it.

Who else thinks it's funny how the scalper who gave the kid Frighty and Camo was bald?
