I think you should, but maybe tell them the figures you get on release day can come out of your Christmas gifts? It might make them like the idea more.

I'm asking for the game and additional figures. My Christmas list is really long so I'm probably not going to get the extra figures, but since my birthday is in February I usually ask for the stuff on my list that I didn't get for Christmas.

This is exactly what I am doing. Due to money constraints, I have to get Giants as a Christmas present. But I will still be getting figures before then.

I am doing the same thing since I probably won't get Giants until my birthday ( In November) I get my own money, I get paid every two weeks from doing chores, but I spent the last two months scrambling for the ones not getting a repose (still need and ) so I won't have enough money, but I will still buy figures. I will be buying and and maybe before I get it)

My school is half and half, but we all play Minecraft.

Also I can only get money by doing yard work meaning I'm in a tight spot right now. I have $17 and I'm kinda holding onto it. Okay I HAVE to take advantage on gamestop's sale on ps2 games but nothing else.

I think there'll be a lot of kids in the same boat as Giants is the perfect Christmas present. Thankfully my 6yo son (yes I'm an old dude with a family) seems happy to wait, but I'll no doubt have to pick up some figures for him before Christmas too because I'm worried we may struggle to find the popular ones (which are sure to be Giants and LightCore) afterwards. Maybe you can use that excuse too.

Good for you kid, there's plenty of time for those games and besides there are plenty of older folk (myself included) who know just how much Skylanders and Ben 10 rock!

Gotta say it riles me when so many parents are so slack with video game ratings. I'm no evil dictator, but there's a reason they're rated that way and sure, every kid is different, but not 6yrs+ different from the rating.

The extent of my playing is in co-op mode with my son. Although I must confess to locating a legendary treasure for him he couldn't find and maybe playing one or two challenge modes on my own. Giants might be a different story with the new difficulty levels. I can see myself playing through the whole game alone as well as doing co-op.

As far as other parents go, most Dad's I know are just big kids. We all love this stuff.

If I wasn't a parent, I wouldn't have looked twice at Skylanders. It was only my son's interest in it that drew my attention to it.

Hey, don't listen to anyone like that, just do what makes you happy!
One of the best lessons I think you can ever learn in life is to just not care about other people's opinions like that.
Besides, I'm twenty one years old and I am not afraid to say that I love Skylanders, and I fnid games like Call of Duty to be boring. I watch Ben 10 every Saturday morning and have my room filled with my collection of Ben 10 action figures! (If you don't believe me, check out my youtube videos) I also thought Despicable Me was hilarious and I will admit the horror movies still give me nightmares.
If you think all of this makes me sound like a loser, well you're wrong, because I've also got a totally hot girlfriend that supports me liking all this stuff.
Sorry if I ranted a little there, but I struggled with being embarrassed by the stuff I liked in school also, until one day my mom finally taught me to just do what makes me happy, no matter what it is in life. I hope I helped!

I like to talk to them about what they will do in giants.

When me and my little brother first got the game, I pretended that the toys could talk like in the commercials, and it turned into a YouTube series. All because of these little toys.

Those toys have changed my life.
