Wonder how variants are packed... Or do they just send them in boxes of 6? (Legendaries, Granite etc.)

I have been adamantly fighting this list because its been smaller than I would have thought. The distribution pattern works is heavy on new figures and still large enoug to make an impact on day one. Hate to say it but this looks like its actually wave 1. However this would indicate wave 2 will be huge this year (12 figures opposed to the 3 last year).

The only thing still diminishing the credibility of this list is TRU (US) preorder that also has Sonic Boom up but the fact tat the three confirmed LC are listed as being available for S2 preorder skews the credibility of that sites information.

There's still a chance for more store exclusives. Neither Walmart nor Big W have announced any yet even though you'd think they might get something.

In the states there are six big skyander retailers. Four of them have announced day one varaints or exclusives. Waiting to see what Wal-mart and Best Buy are holding on to.

Honestly though I would expect not much more than a color variant (possibly in game of another already existing figure).

^ If that happens, Wave Two of Giants will single-handedly be the best Skylanders release, ever. I can't be the only one who loves that future list.
If it does tie in with the Wii U launch hopefully that's simeltainiously for all regions and not just America getting it 22 days early.

I'm starting to get the idea that Giants figures will span 2 to 3 waves this time, instead of 6. Actually, I am willing to bet we will have every figure in 3 waves. They did say they wanted to get more figures out in a shorter period of time.

Honestly, Golden Flamey has been a pain in the butt and no one can be quite sure what is happening. He has showed up on trhe Amazon site about six weeks ago and stayed on the site for about three hours. Then he vanised from the site with no indication he was ever there which is unusual (normally you would get an out of stock screen). About five days later everyone that ordered one was notified that it was cancelled and put on the site by accident. He showed up next at an Amazon press conference in a segment showing that those who had kindle fires and downloaded Skylanders: Cloud Patrol would be able to order figures straight from the game in the form of golden treasure chests.

A poster on this site provided a link to order him last week he was accesible with that specific link for about five hours. He was not retrievable from the amazon site search. I have personally talked to three amazon reps since then about another item I ordered at the same time. It was mentioned to me that this specific link was supposed to be a one time use situation and due to a system error it allowed for multiple orders using the same link. ALthough the recent orders have yet to be cancelled it has been mentioned to me twice that they will be.

The short answer is no one knows how to actually get a Golde Flamey yet but Amazon clearly will have them

I am not depressed your making stuff up I said it doesn't in the first game they released 20/32 at the start but here 20/48 doesn't seem right.

It does when you consider that they'll release a lot more Skylanders per wave this time.

Okay, so with Ebgames in Australia listing somewhat different things, this is conflicting information again. Tig says her source shows what wave 1 will be. However, Gamestop doesn't have single pack listings for characters Tig's source lists, like Whirlwind, Zook, Terrafin, and Ignitor.

i am hoping Tig's source is right, and Ebgames.com.au just hasn't listed the four I mention above. If Ebgames is right, and the only way to get Whirlwind, Zook, and Ignitor (while Terrafin is absent altogether), is through triple packs, that's gonna suck.

T7ggs distribution pattern seems solid for the singles. If you go by that add with just 3 new ones and 2 reposes it seems.... lacking. It seems a viable explanation that Whirlwind, Zook, Terrafin and Ignitor were simply absent for space reasons especially since that oter vendor that posted the topic promoting for iwantiwant confirmed whirlwind, terrafin and ignitor for launch.

Also, having the new Skylanders only be 2-1 ratio would make it seem like the new Skylanders are going to dry up fast. Hopefully there is another case assortment with just new Skylanders packed in to satisfy demand.

This is likely and six packs of Granite Crusher would help assure his actual availibility and prevent him from just becoming a mirage at Target and an ebay attraction

Fright Rider looks to be the hardest to find of wave 1 because he is the only New Skylander in the single assortment that is not included in a triple pack.

Yes Fright rider will be the hardest of the first wavee to track down without question

That is unless Activision recognized the possible pegwarming issue and is also sending the major retailers an assortment of singles that only contains new Skylanders. Unless they go this route there is going to be huge issue of S2 clog because a good chunk of parents are not going to shell out for duplicate characters. Also, a good percentage of kids are not going to want S2 versions of characters they already own. If a parent tells their kid they can pick out 1 to 2 Skylanders when they are buying Giants, which characters do you think they'll want?

The giants on the other hand are going to plentiful due to their built in awesome case ratio since their are no carry forward characters in their assortment.

I personally think 2 waves might be too ambitious to get enough of each fig out but do agree on a much shorter span this time - my bet is 3 to 4 waves.

Still, I think BOTH should have been in wave one.

Toys'R'Us had Flashwing, Hot Dog, and Fright Rider for pre order last weekend and said it would ship out 10-21-12. They were only on the site for a couple of hours that I saw though. I got a confirmation that they received my order but it still says I can cancel it. We will see if I get a confirmation email on the order of if it is postponed. I did call Toys'R'Us and they did confirm that the order shows to ship on 10-21-12. We'll see!

^I only preordered Flashwing and Hot Dog from the TRU site.

I hope the big retailers impose some sort of limits on the characters or else it will only take one A-hole scalper to clean out a store of their "new" Skylander stock.

You know that's where the scalpers are going to be focused because the 2-1 ratio of new to s2 Skylanders hardly is enough to satisfy the demand. I would think demand is going to be like 4-1 or more for the new characters to S2. Fans on this site are pretty well informed as to the benefits of a S2 character, but I would think a majority of the kids/parents will just see them as pretty much the same character they already have.

The other problem is that even though Target may have like 10-12 cases of singles, if they put out let's say 8 cases and the new skylanders go quick but there are still plenty of S2s on the shelves, they aren't going to be going in the back to dig through cases in the back to get someone a new skylander.

Unless one of the 3 giants majorly pegwarms, they should have plenty to go around.

I dont plan on buying the S2 skylanders at all till i get the all the new ones. even then i might not. The only S2 i really want is whirlwind, and spyro. Other wise it seems like a waste of money. I just really hope i get fright rider day 1, when hes in my hand i'll be happy.

Oops, I got the ratio wrong, for a case of 12 singles in wave 1, it's 6 new to 6 S2, so it's a 1 to 1 ratio which is even worse.
