Why did Mega Bloks make a Giants theme instead of Lego???? WHY???

just imagine, they could have released a lego skylanders game! similar to all the other lego properties get games. where your lego figures also actually mean something in the game somehow.

If you haven't noticed, Mega Blocks tend to get video game contracts and then make them into toys based off the game (Halo, Skylanders), whereas Lego makes the toys and then the games get develop based off the toys.

Do a little google research - look who the primary share holders of Mega-Blocks are, then take a look at who the primary share holders of Toys For Bob, you might notice some relations....

I think someone talked about it in another thread, and it goes along with what czs said- Lego produces Lego branded games, which commonly are for movies (ie, Lego Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc)

MegaBloks alternatively usually has game related things- Halo and Skylanders. Lego also probably wouldn't be a viable option because Skylanders is in direct competition with Lego games in the first place.

Yes, Lego use a company caled Travellers Tales to produce (in my not so humble opinion) fine games.

These games are in competition, to some degree, with the Skylanders franchise.
