i think the graphics here are far better than the TLoS ones. what do you think?

I agree that AHT has better graphics than LoS, apart from the 360 and PS3 version of DOTD, AHT looks much more colourful and clearer to see things.

LoS wasn't exactly supposed to be cheery and colorful.

But LoS seem to always consist of the same colour in every level, one level would all be a brown colour, one would all be a dark purple colour, lol.

Agreed.

To me, LoS was SLIGHTLY better, but AHT was MUCH better none-the-less.

I agree with the bold. It was too grim-dark to me. It was like Spyro couldn't get a break at all, and EVERYONE was after him. It felt like he couldn't turn his back without being backstabbed by some one like Cynder.

@bold: That really doesn't make sense to me, basically you have agreed with me but then stated that LoS is better but then again it isn't, what?

No one will really notice this. I just waned to post on an old topic. The graphics are good.

I found the graphics to be beautiful when a kid, and I still do.

I really like them. The art direction is great, and the rendering is crisp.

Never really paid attention to the graphics, but now that you mention it, yes they are a little bit nicer I suppose.

They are more colourful but they aren't better.
However Tall Plains and Valley of Avalar are very colourful.

You picked, like, the two worst pictures to show.

What about Dragon Village? Dragonfly Falls? Red's Factory?

Doesn't matter. It's still the same game and the graphics aren't as good.

SSL is misspelled SL - Shadow Legacy. AHT - A Hero's Tail. So these are only two games

I think the reason people like the graphics in A Hero's Tail more was because they turned up the brightness and used reflections like no tomorrow, whereas the Legend games, more specifically Dawn of the Dragon, opted to bring more realistic visuals to the picture like in Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon. Basically, A Hero's Tail looked cartoon-like while the Legend games were more of a blend between cartoon and realistic.

What's a darker or a lighter atmosphere? Cartoony or not? Got to do with better looking graphics? All you're doing is comparing universes then.

Isn't that the point of this thread, to compare the two universes? And besides, the topic is about the graphics themselves, not the atmosphere, between A Hero's Tail and the LoS.

Graphics are very important part of video game universe. And this isn't same as atmosphere. Universe is most general, includes graphics, music background, plot, characters, etc. Atmosphere is intuitive statement, it's harder to define. It is connected to gameplay rather than to universe.

and I love aht's colourful fun graphics over more better graphics in general, like I like pokemon stadiums graphics over battle revolution, the mouths look like they are painted on the pokemons face
