So with a little over a month before the launch of Giants, we still don't have any idea what Target and Walmart will be getting for launch exclusives. TRU is most likely going to have the rumored L Bouncer and L 3pack.

So what do you think Target and Walmart will be getting?

They each got 60 day exclusivity to Whirlwind and Drill Sergeant, is it going to be another 60 day exclusive of a new skylander or giant or perhaps light core? If gamestop was given the launch exclusive of Shroomboom in their battle pack, one would think the big chains would get something as good.

It does not look promising - I have been eagerly awaiting for equivalent bonus offers here in Oz. It was Target and Big W here last time.

I do remember the news of Drill Sergeant being Walmart's exclusive last year was very late and just before launch. I remember ordering DS from Sams Club because initially that was the only place that was said to have him.

I think the Whirldwind news was release a couple weeks before launch.

I know TRU have a few Legendaries this time round, but please oh please Acti, don't let them have anymore exclusives.

I can only speak for the UK section, but boy they are worse than useless! During my time collecting SA's figures, it was TRU that constantly fed me bad or plain wrong information. They have also driven me mad trying to communicate with them over the SA Legendaries, convincing them to do preorders as there was demand and then when they did that they sold out of pre-orders in less than two days!

Now I've been asking them about Giants and I've either been ignored or convinced that booster packs are Starter packs.

I will possibly only buy the newer Legendaries from TRU because of the exclusiveness, everything else I will either purchase from my own stock orders or from a fellow collector. TRU staff (with a few exceptions such as fanjo and Wonderful Craig) are clueless mindless zombies, who don't seem to care that you want to throw money at them. /rant

TRU shouldn't get anymore exclusives since they already have Legendary Trigger Happy and the Legendary 3 Pack of Legendary Bash, Legendary Chop Chop and Legendary Spyro. Walmart and Target and Best Buy should be the ones to get the new exclusives.

I wonder if Best Buy will get another Volcanic Vault like launch day exclusive

Ideally, Target should get S2 Whirly and Walmart will get S2 Drill Sarge. I find it funny that both have been confirmed to get reposes and neither get a LightCore variant, meaning they were at least trying to keep them "equal" in terms of toy releases.

Personally, I'd really like to see Target get some good stuff. They got the shaft with SSA after the Whirlwind exclusivity ended. Walmart got red Drilly, and an early release of Camo/Warnado, Gamestop also got the early launch of Camo/Warnado, TRU of course has the regular Legendaries and Blue Bash, and Best Buy even ended up getting Whammy first (plus Volcanic Vault)

So hopefully Target will make out with some exclusive figures as well, maybe some new items and stuff for Skylanders. I know most of my Targets have the video game section sitting right across from the lego/megabloks so that might be a good thing for them to get.

i think that if they do more exclusive figures at walmart, target, etc they will be like red drill seargent or blue bash in the sense that they are a character whose figure is all one color but is the same in-game. i think gamestop will be getting a green warnado and i think that target will get a varient of whirlwind.

If Gamestop gets Green Warnado will they sell him as a single character pack? and I also hope that Target gets a variant of Whirlwind that is exclusive

I remember reading somewhere before that Target was going to get an exclusive figure like WERDS and Blue Bash which would probably be a green variant, but that's never happened obviously. Perhaps they'll get one for Giants? I'll also be excited to see what sort of exclusives come out for each store. I have at least one of each store close to me so I should be able to pick up everything without much issue, hopefully.

Well Toys R Us IS Activision's Partnered company for Skylanders. They will just get it again.

I hope if there are any exclusives, they aren't the variant figures, or at least timed. They are already hard enough to get.

Then again, Gold FS and (possibly) Green Warnado are confirmed...

Anyway, Mold Rex is oficially the WORST exclusive, even though it isnt store exclusive.

I actually think Mold Rex is the best variant yet. 100% serious.

Or...Walmart and Target will have exclusive variants of a Giants. Like the red Ninjini for Target and blue Crusher for Walmart, they would even match their respective store's main color.

Maybe these will be different variants for each console. Look at it this way: Crusher, Hot Dog and Tree Rex all apparently come out on day one. If Ninjini comes later then maybe she comes with a Wii U pack and the different consoles are getting them bundled(sans 3DS which is never promoted). Example...

Interesting thought but I think there is a fine distinction between a variant fig and changing the fig altogether - especially given that the XBox and Wii packs are known.

So, TRU is giving the ability to get a Giant character. Not sure which though...

It just seems that since this is Skylanders Giants, they would give them an exclusive "giant" to support the major new theme.

Id rather deal with exclusives than preorder bonuses. At least with exclusives they vary and are not all at once at each store. I came across red drill sergeant purely by accident. Plus it seems the legendaries weren't limited.

I'd rather deal with preorder bonuses... Because they garuntee you get the figure, and you don't need to look everywhere. If there are going to be exclusives again I will be peeved.



If Fright Rider really is coming out in Wave One, I think he will be an exclusive somewhere. Big W/UK equivalent/Walmart?

If Fright Rider becomes an exclusive in Australia then the USA might as well get either Thumpback or Flashwing as an exclusive

They won't have characters exclusive to a region. A variant may be region exclusive but they won't do that to a regular one.

Whether it was intentional or not that was pretty much happened with Wham-Shell in Australia there was about a month where this was the only location he was found in. Rumor had it distributors like Wal-Mart, Best-Buy and Gamestop were shipping them to the states before activision was doing so.

They may release them earlier in different regions but not make characters region exclusive.

So long as Crusher and Sprocket aren't Target exclusives, I'll be happy. Target isn't even IN Canada, so if either of them are exclusive to it, I'll be REALLY mad. Those two are the only ones that I absolutely HAVE to buy as soon as possible, so they'd better not make it overly difficult to get them here in Canada. I also really want Bouncer, but I could reluctantly wait for his exclusivity to end before getting him.

I actually really hate store exclusives. I like the idea of just being able to go into any store that sells a particular brand of something, and having the same odds of finding what I want at each of them. Exclusives also encourage scalpers to buy them all up, making it even more difficult to get them.

I love store exclusives and who knows if Crusher and Sprocket become Target exclusives

That would be a very long walk, given that it is only US TRU stores with that deal.

And false, Wham-Shell was at no point an exclusive. I have read posts from niche areas of America that have said they got them before I've heard of anyone getting one here- I think publishing dates are just getting better here lately otherwise we would probably be in a situation like the poor UKers.

Looks like my gut was 50% correct thus far. I'm guessing Walmart will have a variant as well.

target is going to have a special granite crusher which is black and blue i saw a picture that gave the information but when i tried to copy it and bring it here it wouldnt work sorry but thats what they have

So it's pretty likely ALL these ARE figure variants, the question now is if they unlock anything special/are separately listed ala Dark Spyro, I suppose we will also find out all the variants when someone gets a chance at the data.
Honestly not impressed when they could be pumping out the regular figures instead.

Edit: Or at least has his own tile in the bit where you can see all the Skylanders (the bit where it was found that L.Trigger existed). Then it would mean that the game recognises him as a different figure and I might just buy him if the comes to the UK

Well, if this is just a figure variant it's actually sort of good news, as it means all the other figure variants will have their skins coded into the game, so when someone hacks in, we can see what ones they plan to repaint... But I'm fine with it either way. As long as they provide options for getting them for everyone.
