No it is gold from Oz EB Games (same company as GameStop). I would presume that the battle pack will be available from other vendors but the gold variant is an exclusive.

I just hope the golden one doesn't have any in-game difference from the regular one. :/

This is what I meant gold dragon fire cannon at gamestop and EB games as an exclusive variant and the regular dragon fire cannon at every other retailer.

Since we know Amazon (US) has a gold variant flameslinger it may be that all the retailers are getting gold exclusives this time around

The golden flameslinger hs been verified to be a regular version in game (at least on cloud patrol)

I will not likely buy both so I am hoping it is not treated differently in game (dragon fire cannon)

Yes, I know that, but I meant maybe they localised Shroomboom to Fungus for Spanish audiences. But, yes, then I realised that the name on the packaging is still Shroomboom. Maybe Fungus was just a prototype name and this whole packaging is from an early version? Especially with the S1 Whirlwind figure and card.

Walmart isn't the site I saw it on, but I was meaning to put this in the other thread about preorders. With Walmart's Wii U bundle thing, you can add Skylanders Giants (wii U version obviously) to the pack, which adds an extra $15 to it.

Now, the actual page listing for Wii-U Giants says 12/31/12 which I assumed was just the "you have to put a date in to list it" thing. And it probably is.

But apparently Wii U Giants isn't a Day 1 release with the Wii U, so..ehhh.

Then here is what I did when my key got stuck; I pulled the key off the keyboared and then put it back on. Also if you press shift while caps lock is on it makes a lowercase letter.

I have a copy of The Machine of Doom novel, I liked it.

They didn't change the Machine of Doom title before they officially revealed the novel. It's a kids franchise, we might as well expect the titles to not be epic, mature sounding but more childish.

Hey,I searched it on my Kobo desktop app, and the art was different. Spyro and Eruptor over the logo and a big silver robot beneath.

^Yeah that was the old cover art that they still use.

In the novel, they show great detail on the characters, including Spyro in particular.

EDIT:

I contacted Cavan Scott, the author of the book, and he said that there is no change in the character line-up in Spyro versus The Mega Monsters. Apparently, the picture I posted is an early American cover of the book.

My 6yo son really enjoyed reading The Machine Of Doom and I quite enjoyed reading occasionl bits to him too, we're looking forward to the follow up.

I also enjoyed "Machine of Doom", I'm an adult with no children. I will however lend it to my niece (9) and nephew (5) and see what they think of it.

Also an adult who enjoyed Machine of Doom. And I'm one of the fussiest readers out there.

hope so and it should be 720p native not wii 480i.... since wii-u is coming.

But if you get it on the original Wii it'll still look fine. Giants IS coming out on original Wii right?! Also I was reffering to the animations not the graphics; I REALLY hope they did away with the cop-out repetitive motions during in game talking cutscenes and I especially hope they make thee Kaos cutscenes flow better. Anyone else remember how the motions of his head just changed at random from one thing to the next? Ugh... It'd be nice if they made the effort to make character's mouths match thier words too.

I expect them to use the same graphics engines as the first game since one, the Wii U graphics look about the same as the original on Wii, and two, it's Activision!

So what's up with the Cannon variant? Looking behind it, the art is also silver which makes me suspect it may be a localisation difference... (IMO, I like it better in that color!)
And Series One Whirlwind? Yeah no, the slip is green, it has Series Two, has Series Two art, it's probably Series Two.

I just think it's something wrong when making the packaging. The pic must be new since it hasn't been a week since they revealed the artworks. If it was old news someone would have discovered it eventually

But the book title remains the same, can't expect some book titles in Skylanders to be mature sounding.

No, it was confirmed to be released in the launch window - which would be November or December. Personally, I think Activision will want to get it released ASPA in time for Christmas - so a November release seems more likely than December.

The Series 2 images contains different features on the Skylanders than the Series 1 versions.

Spyro has red wooden armor on his wings in his Series 2 look, but what would he look like in the story of The Mega Monsters itself? Will he have the red wings of his Series look? Or will he not?
