I'm afraid the series might go downhill from here. What do you think?

It'll go downhill when they try to market it to a more "mature" audience like what happened with Legend of Spyro.

I doub't they'll do that exactly, but I do anticipate that they'll not learn from the past and keep milking Skylanders untill everyone, even the kids are just sick of it, or until something better or at least more popular comes along, or they find something more profitable.
But I think it'll go strong for a while till then.

They never said Skylanders was a trilogy, Wumbo. They already made three games, and they're making a fourth.

It's going to go downhill when people get sick of it or something better comes along, really as simple as that.

If they make "Series 3" figures that make even the series 2 figures obsolete, that's when I think most people will give up on it. Many people I know jumped off the Skylanders train when they found out the set of characters they already bought were obsolete, so if they do it AGAIN to the people who were actually okay with the series two figures, I don't see those people forgiving it a second time.

^ I know I sure won't. The only reason I might excuse it is if they redid just the new characters from Giants and those without a repose. But if they remake characters third times... I'd quite just because of that. Not that I'd be surprised or disappointed or anything.

It will be good for about 4 or maybe 5 games, But that is when it will end....

They're not obsolete, they only lack the wow pow upgrade and the option to have both paths. The way I see it is that if you really can't beat the game with just series one it's not so bad becuse at least you get a couple of new/series2 . Also not being able to use your favorite isn't so bad either, he characters are ultimately skins anyway. If nothing else you can always get a Series2 Spyro if you still think of it as a spyro game.

Youll get Wow pow on your new skylanders anyway so to my opinion you dont need the series 2, unless your missing some of those skylanders

nope, because if i does, I shall roll down with them.
seriously, I tthink itt would last a while and it will die down, but I'm sure tfb and acti would keep adding more new cool gimmicks each new game, which I like. |

They will probably stretch it out more as a franchise than just games. Well, this would be a smart thing to do.
They might be charging heaps for skylanders so that in the future they can be cheaper. |

I don't think it will go down from here. I think it might pick up steam in some markets as far as game units sold. They need to keep expanding the games getting more people involved in multiplayer. So online/4 player modes would keep this thing going.
I do worry about the little kids and playing with weirdo adults though.

Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you. |

I agree. It will go downhill eventually, but it's not time yet. I would guess about 2 more games or something similar before interest goes down into severe.

i think it might go downhill later if they make another game like giants because the figures cost more and there r only 16 levels but if they make it worse then it will

I can't see it going downhill anytime soon. As long as Activision keeps making a fortune off of it and people remain interested, it'll probably be around for quite a while.
What really bothers me is if the series does reach a dead end, then will Spyro live on?

To everyone that says "ERHMERGHERD GIANTS R SOO EXPENSIVE!!!!! WHY NOT MAKE SKYLANDERS $5!" Well Here's the answer why.
Of course they use money to buy the plastic materials, paint, RFID Chips and stuff. If they already have the MSRP set, then they already expect how much money to make. If they lower the price, they actually lose money! It costs more money to ship and make the item then to sell it. This is why most stores make them "Buy 1 Get One 40% Off, Buy 1 Get 1 Free!" Because they want you to atleast buy one so they can still make money. Lose money, series gets cancelled. Same with pirating games/shows. If we don't watch the show on TV, they lose ratings and cancel it. Same with games, If they pirate it instead of buying it, they lose money and their sales and they can cancel the whole series!

No, piracy doesn't affect that.
