Since few of the new eight Skylanders and Giants are getting discussion threads, I thought I make a discussion thread about the first female Earth Skylander, Flashwing.

She is voiced by Tara Strong.

Biography:
Flashwing's true origins are a mystery. But her first appearance came when Bash made a wish that he could fly and looked up to see a shooting star streak across the sky and in a valley below. In the centre of the glowing impact crater was a large, brilliant geode - which suddenly cracked open to reveal Flashwing. Bash may not have soared that day, but his heart sure did, because Flashwing was beautiful... and lethal. As soon as Bash stepped closer, the gem dragon turned towards him. Not knowing if he was friend or foe, she blasted him off of the cliff with a full force laser pulse from her tail! Perhaps Bash flew that day after all.

very good idea, I think flash wing deserves a topic.
I have a feeling she may have similar attacks to prism break, but I don't really care because she looks too cool for me not to buy
I guess she must really be a dragon (people probably already know how I wished she was a bat, it would make so much sense [bats live in caves, caves = rocks and dirt = earth] and that wouldn't be so weird since bash is already our 'dragon') oh well, she's still cool though

I had a dream about what her attacks were:
1. Plasma Lightning
2. This crystal howl sonic cry thing
3. Flight

If she is a dragon, I am going to be very upset- that means two for Earth. (And Bash not being truly winged isn't an excuse either because that would mean Life needs one too.)

I like Flashwing. She is a nice new female Dragon beside Whirlwind and Cynder.
I think her attacks base on crystal attacks.
Maybe she shoots crystal off her mouth.

Maybe she causes earthquakes and can momentarily turn into an invincible statue, ala Tanooki Mario.

at this juncture of all junctures i can promise one thing FLASHWING is going to be 'AWESOME'... and trust me when i say this, she is going to be one of the most popular new skylanders in giant... shes a dragon, so it is a fact!

I think I just found my nickname for her: Blue Eyes!

Now that I know Flashwing is a dragon, she is my most wanted new Skylander and I really like her design. I hope that Flashwing and lightcore Pop Fizz are available the same day that Skylanders Giants is released.
I think Flashwing would attack using beams and crystals, similar to Prism Break's attacks. Also, because she has wings, I think Flashwing will have a Flight upgrade.

I like Flashwing. I'm going to buy her.

I think that her attacks could be throwing crystals and shooting beams from her crystals.

I definitely hope she'll be able to fly.

Those wing tips look like they're crystals (well, actually the whole wing looks like that) and with the name "Flashwing" I'd assume that she'll shoot lasers or other similar "flashes" out of her wings.

Unlikely, but still cool- she can refract the light around her and sneak around like Stealth Elf can, but for a bit longer.

That would make for a very good backstory/biography

Maybe somehow, they include something about the trapped dragons in the first game and how her coming about was affected by that. Idk, long shot.

I was going to call my flashy reshiram but since it's a girl it doesn't seem right to call her that anymore, does anyone have some ideas for me?

I like the color pattern on Flashwing's paws.

Personally, Flashwing is totally the new Skylander I look most forward to in this game. Anyone know if she will be in series 1? Because I'm hoping I can get her the day the game comes out.

I doubt it, and she would still be to dragonine for my tastes. But I like that idea. If only she has been in the first game instead of Bash...

I like Flashwing's colours, She would have been a nice light core figure.
She may reflect light off her crystals as a attack.

Actually the Pokemon reshiram is gender less.

^ everyone still jokes about the 'fur tuft' though, which I find disgusting to talk about a kid's game character, what if a kid that can read sees it.
on-topic: I think one of her attacks must be a flash of light from her wings.

I really like this figure's design. It has a very nice paint job with a variety of paint types that add to the overall concept of the character. It's also posed nicely and not overdone like series 2 Drobot's and Spyro's pose which can look kind of strange. The in-game character's design also appears to be very nice, well designed, detailed, and interesting. This will be a must-get character on my list for Giants =)!

Attack idea:
It might be neat if she could store energy from the sun's rays with the crystals on her wings (hence the name, Flashwing) and use that power to shoot a beam of condensed energy from the crystal on her forehead. Her tail could also fire beams of energy.

Hmmm... tomboyish personality, will never threaten to stab you, and in fact cannot speak.

Absorbing solar energy into her crystals and releasing energy beams from her wings X3

It's also possible that she uses her wings to reflect light like mirrors or refract light like a magnifying glass.

it is very likely that she has some sort of breath attack like the other winged dragons dealing with light, probably a cross between drobot's blasters and prism break's beam attack.

it is also possible that, like prism break she can break the purple tzo crystals which seems possible as she is crystal-based as well.

another possible attack is her growing and shooting crystals from her wings like a non-tracking varient of Drill sergent's drill-missiles with more shorts before she needs to stop and reload. this could also be her wow-pow attack.

she has a low chance of having a physical attack(non-long range) unless it is an unlockable third attack instead of flying being her third move.

but anyway, I'm hoping for a lightcore varient of her in skylanders 3. she would be neat as she appears to be composed of as much transparent plastic as slam-bam.

I always imagine her with a voice simaler to 's.

Whenever Flashwing is in the light, her gems should sparkle like Prism Break's gems.
