I think they copped out on the toys this time around. Why do we need a LC and a non-LC of the same character? Why do we need so many reposes? Reposes should've been limited to one per element, maximum of two. I think the Giants are all nice additions, but I think some of the new characters are completely unoriginal such as sprocket and chill. Out of 48 figures, we only get 16 new characters. Why couldn't we get an all new roster? If you compare SA to Giants, SA was completely original with the characters. Now we have Giants, and Activision has realized the figures are going to sell regardless so they don't have to develop the interesting characters like SA anymore. Which is evidenced here by the people posting "OMG I'M GOING TO BUY THEM ALL". A completely new roster of characters would've been ideal, but it appears they are more focused on the money now.

Eh, I'll wait for a lot of them before I buy this time. I will get them all, but I won't rush out and buy EVERY SINGLE ONE I CAN FIND or anything like that. I'm very disappointed with how many repeats we got this time too, I was hoping for a whole new set of Skylanders (and yes, I'd rather wait longer and get more characters after all).

Think yourself lucky, they could have been massive arses and say that you have to buy one of each element again.

No kidding! I don't like any of the new Skylanders except for Flashwing and I don't like how they've jacked the prices up on the Skylanders themselves. My wallet just can't handle it anymore. I was planning on getting Giants for both the Xbox 360 and the 3DS since I wanted to do more with the Skylanders I already have until I saw that the 3DS version costs just as much as the console version now!

Yeah, I hate all of the reposes and lightcores. And the only new characters out of the new 16 I think are remotely decent are Tree Rex, Hot Head, Flashwing, Crusher, Pop Fizz, and... uh... that's it. That's not even half.
Every time a new Skylander was announced I just got more disappointed...

$9.99 for normal Skylanders, $11.99 for Lightcore characters and $14.99 for Giants - only NA prices at the moment because that's all they announced, we'll see the others when you can actually buy them. |

That's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it's still a lot. Kind of reminds me of the sims. You buy the game for $40 and then every other expansion is $40.

Because light core is cool but some people want a series 2 that will work with SSA and apparently Lightcores won't(???). Not everyone has a S1 Prism Break, Eruptor etc Activision is a business not a charity ... it wants to make money. If you don't like don't buy...

I don't understand why people get upset that they are exploring as many options as possible to make a profit. Are you saying you have no self control and it a genetic imperative to buy them all? If people don't want both the Lightcores and the regulars, don't buy both!!!

Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you. |

While I agree that I'm incredibly disappointed in the new characters, I'll have to admit I like the Re-poses and Light core figs. I may just end up getting those and forget the new characters...then again who knows; I also said I'd only get one of each element for the first game...now I have them all...oh well.
By the way, if those are the offical prices they settle with, then I'll most likely not be buying many of the Giants...I'll stick to the regulars and lightcores...15 for a figure is a lot of money I don't feel like spending.

Keep in mind they had a LOT more time to work on the original Skylanders game and come up with lots of characters. This time they only had a year to make a whole new game and a new roster of characters. In all honesty, I really like the way they've done it this time. The original game was really asking a lot by buying 32 characters to complete the set, so an upgraded game with only half that many new characters is actually a good thing in my eyes.
As for the lightcores, there's no part of me that feels I NEED to get both versions, and I think both Activision and Toys for Bob know this too. I like the lightcores because it gives me another option if I don't like the other figure as much. I'm going to be buying the lightcore version of Chill simply because I like the figure better, and I'm sure Eruptor fans will shell out the extra money for the lightcore version. As for series 2 characters, Activision and Toys for Bob have even said in interviews they expect people to only re-buy their favourite characters, and not all of them. I quite like them because it makes them more like their final upgraded version, and I like the idea of new attacks to old characters I already like. There are a lot of series 2 figures I think are cool, but I'm not going to buy all of them just because they're cool. I'm going to be rebuying the characters I like playing the game as, not just to have them on display. And as for lightcores not working with Spyro's Adventure, I think mmost people are going to abandon the first game once Giants comes out anyways, so that's not really too much to be upset about.

Lol I ain't even mad. Saves me money and time I can put into Paper Mario 4. Flashwing, Hot Dog, Tree Rex, and that shroom guy are going on my list, but that's all. Ain't re-buying crap, but I didn't get S. Elf, Flameslinger, S. Boom, or P. Break last time, so I will now.

I agree. The factors that I am considering when buying a S2 is if it is one of my favorites to play as, if the Wow Pow is strong, and its looks.

Of course they were going to cop out on the figure designs. They have over forty to pose. At least the gameplay looks better this time around... Let's just hope looking around becomes mandatory

Yeah. In assorted videos I saw quests, arena challenges, and some other stuff. I think these will be great additions to expand the Skylander world.
