Wow those pics are pretty sweet. I take back a little bit of what I said about Sprocket, her in game look is better then her toy figure.

And about the Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt you got, are they S2 or S1?

Also looks like the series 1/2 circle around the characters portrait will carry onto the character roster too. I'm gonna guess that if you have registered a S1 character, the circle will appear green on the roster and then if you were to register the same character with their S2 figure, this will change to the orange ring and the new icon. So, rather than having S1 and S2 characters separately, you have a priority system with S1<S2.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the accolades were associated with S2 figures instead of S1 figures.

I don't think the soul gems for S1/2 characters will be in the game. Also, the green/orange ring was also on the game play of "Kaos' Kastle"

Well, that could be the case, but it could also be that S1 characters have green rings and S2 characters have orange rings. They haven't actually shown any game play for S2 characters since they added that.
