I've been thinking it over for a while, and I think I'm gonna go later in the day on release day. Quite honestly, pretty much all publishers make enough games so there's not really any point in preordering unless there's some sort of giveaway involved. What I'll probably do is head to the stores a few hours after opening and pick up my game. Most likely, I WILL end up reserving it at TRU because of the guarantee to get another figure although I don't forsee myself buying one on Day 1 besides the battle pack at Gamestop.

Anyone else doing something similar? Plan on camping out the night before?

I'm going to the store and buying one of each, only reposes being Wrecking Ball and Stealth Elf's. Also going for Chill and Hot Dog...

I've already got Giants pre-ordered from GameStop for the 360 and the 3DS, as well as the GS Exclusive Battle Pack, so I'll pick all of those up on release day as soon as the store opens. I'll probably get to Gamestop about an hour or so before the it opens just to make sure I'm first.

I'll probably start stalking all of the stores that carry Skylanders figures about two weeks before the game comes out, just to see if any of them break the street date, which will keep me busy considering how many stores in my town sell Skylanders. There's a Toys R Us, Best Buy, Target, two Wal-Marts, and three Gamestops. lol.

Step 1: Get to Toys R Us sometime before it opens with a decent sized basket.
Step 2: When it opens its doors, run towards the Skylanders section with the basket.
Step 3: Grab a starter pack or booster pack, depending on which is the best deal.
Step 4: If there is a large mob, start filling the basket with as many Skylanders as possible, then take out any doubles or originals. If there is a few or no people, leisurely fill the basket with Skylanders.
Step 5: Buy the Skylanders, go home, set it up and start playing!

i am going to target early in the morning and getting the starter pack and as many figures as i can. then i am going to a gamestop that is next to the target and getting the battle pack, then im heading over to toy's r us because they will probably have some exclusives. i might also head to walmart because they might get a exclusive as well.

Buy as many as I can afford on the first day.

I won't pre-order unless a bonus figure giveaway, but I probably will go to each store that has an exclusive figure just in case of a shortage.

im going to go to toys r us 30 minutes early and stand in front of the door. when it opens i will run inside and buy the booster pack and buy as much figures as possible

Camping, lol. I'm just going to get a basket, go to gamestop and toys r us, take everything off the wall, removing doubles and most reposes, and pick up my preorder (I forgot to say I'm going to also fight the angry mob!)

I'll hang out at walmart late Saturday and grab as many of the day one releases I can from there as soon as they hit the shelf. If I have to beat back a pack and don't get them all, I'll head to target and toys'r'us in order of which one opens first, and then head to gamestop to pick up the battle pack.

I'm preordering the game and then the day it comes out try to get as many skylanders as possible.

Exactly what I did when the first game came out - Waiting for Game (or Gamestation now, since mine closed down) or TRU (if they get exclusives again) to open and getting there first.
