Been without internet for a while (over a month thanks to AT&T...), and it looks like the hype has switched over to the Sidekicks, HOWEVER, I just received a FLOCKED STUMP SMASH in the mail yesterday (the first of 8 total) for any of those out there worried that they have stopped shipping.
It was won by phone only, shipped to North Carolina.
And no sign of the Frito bags in my area yet.
Until next time I'm at a wi-fi spot, or AT&T gets their act together...
Farewell.

I have a question. Why does everyone think it would be okay to send all 4 cards, plus 4 UPC's and 4 checks or money orders, in the same envelope?

Wouldn't they want to receive each order seperately?

I sent in my orders separately, just to be safe. Although, writing 1 check for $8 would be a lot less annoying than writing 4 checks for $2. I just don't dare risk not following the directions exactly.

In all honesty, I think they would prefer to receive each UPC, card, and check in a separate envelope. I've never heard of companies taking everything in one go, especially for mail-in deals.

I would be concerned about sending 4 cards right away. Things may have changed, but the initial take was this was being released in waves. Its hard to say what is the best approach to this.

If all 4 toys are manufactured and ready to go - send 4.

If they are coming in waves - send 1 per time frame.

it's a tough decision without more info...

If they were still intending on releasing these in waves, they wouldn't allow you to specify which you wanted. They would put one option on the order form.

FINALLY found the bags today at Target. I decided to only pick up 2 bags right now until I decide what I want to do. I was thinking of picking up an extra 4 bags and sending them to my grandma's address as a alternate back up plan. But first I want to get rid of these chips/do something creative and or nice with them.

Keep in mind that only those who have seen the info page with the wave dates on it will know about it. Most folks who pick these up in the store for their kids won't know about the projected dates. If the promotion required you to send for your preferred figure after a certain date, they would have said so in the fine print. Perhaps they will only ship certain figures after those dates, so if you mailed in all 4 at the same time, they may have a staggered arrival. Who really knows.

How did you guys fill out the order form? like the 1 through 4 deal?
i came to this conclusion
the order i want them most, i gave a number to each character, then i alternated the numbers in hopes i will get the least amount of possible dupilcates. 1 2 3 4, 2 3 4 1, 3 4 1 2, 4 1 2 3, so everybody moves one place over, what do you guys/gals think?

No there is no fifth sidekick only 4 and you may or may not be getting all of them becuase you sent them at once and you may have to redeem each one separately

This is most likely the best bet. Every figure is in each position one time. Hopefully they are typing these into a computer so the order gets typed in as we enter them on the card(s). If we start to get duplicates, we can possibly work out the trading network as someone had previously mentioned.

Giving them to coworkers is a good idea! I was thinking of donating mine but chips and pasta always get crushed in the sorting at my local food bank. (I've volunteered a couple times, foods of the canned element are definitely stronger in that zone.)

The thinking is probably like this: If they receive a single envelope with four cards, four UPCs and four checks, they know that the person wants one of each figure. If you send them in four separate envelopes, those envelopes could be opened by four different people, and if even one of those people don't give you your first choice on the card, you're screwed.

lol!

If this promo came to my country (it has esentially been confirmed they will NOT be in Frito-Lay chips (known here as Walker's crisps) in the UK...) I would just sell them in my shop. I know they will say "multipack not to be sold seperately" but that is not legally binding and there is nothing to stop people selling them like that... heck my wholesaler actively recommends splitting multi-packs of chips/candy bars.

The toll free line is open! The "kid", that answered immediately - no wait, confirmed 4 per household and suggested 1 card, UPC and check/money order per envelope. She knew nothing of waves and said you should get the character requested on the card. The answers were somewhat robotic and the person already seemed bored with it.

I guess I'll send my 4 separately ASAP.

Edit: the option 1 recording says "multiple requests can be mailed in one envelope" at the end.

you're new here arent you? and by the maturity of your responses i could tell you're about 8. and did you only put in one check for $2? if so, they most likely wont give you all your sidekicks.

~~~~~~
btw people, you'll most likely get what you wanted if you sent them out earlier. they would only give you repeats if you were one of the last customers. then again, you'd still have a chance of getting what you want even if you were the last person.
Do you know 8-year-olds that can properly use the word 'efficiency' in a sentence? If so, then that's incredible! Make sure you encourage them to keep learning and growing and reaching for a brighter tomorrow. Oh! And be sure to let them know that capitalizing the first letter of the first word of a sentence has no place in the English language. Capitalization is for posers and ingrates!
As far as payment goes, I sent in three $16 checks and requested that I be sent a life-size Wham-Shell with patented Real Crab Smell and demonic glowing eyes.
I will not vye into this argument but will point out that two of my four kids are >= 8 years old. If either of them failed the capacity to use "efficiency" in a sentence, then I would disown them. Likewise, the other two when they are of appropriate age.
There was a quick, albeit relatively flippant, discussion this morn on what a "C" means. I remarked that is it short for "C"hange families. The moral of the story is that I am cognisant of when my children have an issue versus are being lazy. I challenge my kids to be the best they can be and mediocrity in the academic stakes is not accepted when it has been identified that they are capable of so much more.
I have no idea what you mean when you say "Change Families". Are you saying that getting a 'C' has the power to change a family? Is that for the better or the worse?
Does not compute.
I tend to cringe when the word 'mediocrity' is used when describing children or their performance, whether it be in academics or sports or underwater basket-weaving. Tends to convey a low level of worth, even if they are slacking off. And while you may be cognizant of when you think your children are being lazy, it isn't as easy to intuit why they are slacking off, which may or may not have anything to do with not pushing oneself hard to succeed.
'Accepted' is equally as cringe-worthy for me. Too black and white for kids. While I have witnessed many young people slide into negative habits and cyclical negative thinking when the bar isn't being raised high enough, I have seen just as many cave and crumble under perceived failure by a bar that they could never quite reach.
And to keep this on topic: Flocked Stump Smash, Sidekicks, and the year 1998, which was when Spyro games were legit.
We can PM about this at leisure but the bottom line is I know if they have not tried the best that they could, just like they know it. Even my 2 year old knows when he has not performed to his best ability.
My kids know that if they do not strive to be the best that they can be, there are consequences. Whilst I would not send my younger two kids away (at their current ages), my elder two know that lowering themselves to be like their lesser performing peers means that they can then find accomodation with those peers and their families. I expect a high standard from my kids and if they chose not to meet their potential then they also chose to not to live under my roof. Sound tough? You betcha, but the world is a tough place and in this day and age kids can't afford to under-achieve without it affecting their future, whether they like it or not. So, bottom line, if they got a C and that was the best that they could do, then fine but if they should have gotten an A then there is an reaction to the initial (in)action.
Whilst I would not send my younger two kids away (at their current ages), my elder two know that lowering themselves to be like their lesser performing peers means that they can then find accomodation with those peers and their families. I expect a high standard from my kids and if they chose not to meet their potential then they also chose to not to live under my roof. Sound tough? You betcha, but the world is a tough place and in this day and age kids can't afford to under-achieve without it affecting their future, whether they like it or not. So, bottom line, if they got a C and that was the best that they could do, then fine but if they should have gotten an A then there is an reaction to the initial (in)action.
My goodness. Performance. Standards. Potential. Achievement. What about enjoyment? What about growth? What about enrichment? What about intellectual expansion?
I have always thought that the traditional grading system is utter garbage, if only for the fact that it measures worth in rigid values, when a good amount of important knowledge can not and will never be defined by such terms. I got As in classes that I learned nothing from. I got Cs in classes that taught me things that I still carry with me to this day. And more often than not, the amount of time I spent studying and the effort I put into, to use your terms, "meeting my potential", was in no way directly correlated to the final grade I received.
It is always difficult for me to hear of kids being ranked, especially in regard to an antiquated system that reports nothing more than arbitrary labels. There is more to success than grades, and yes, one does need to have certain degrees to at least secure a decent-paying job. But by no means are grades anything more than letters that make it easier for educators to weed out what does not fit the mold.
