Most of us saw this coming.

Activision's product specialist Noah Kircher-Allen revealed that Skylanders "was a long-term franchise" for the publisher, and that the series could also extend into comic books and "Halloween costumes.

"Skylanders is a long-term franchise, so you can imagine all sorts of cool new stuff coming out," Kircher-Allen said. "Everything from Halloween costumes to books to comic books.

"As far as film or TV is concerned, we don't have anything officially set for that yet, but obviously that would be something I could see Activision looking into in the future."

Hmm. I could have sworn I'd seen a topic about the TV show and movie rumour before. In fact, I'd already visited the URL you posted in the topic. But, I couldn't actually find the topic that I'd sen this on before.

Hmm. Strange. But yes, I have seen this before. I could have seen this coming before, considering how much merchandise and such that they've previously announced, but I wouldn't actually go to see a movie or watch the TV show on TV - but I might like buy it on DVD or something after. But I digress.

It's something I could see, especially with the popularity of the series.

That's what they were planning with the Spyro franchise a while back.

I don't think it'll do well. They're only after money and won't choose the best options/story lines.

Just look at the mess they made with the variants and the uproar from customers over this and they don't listen to what customers want.

Don't think it'll change with anything else.

Won't be a cult hit like MLP. They're going to be terribly lazy with this series. Just watch. Reason games are successful is because of the toys, only the youngest fans will be starving for the TV episodes. If they wanted it to be a long term successful franchise, they should have released this game as a sneak peek if you will, this year, then the second game in conjunction with the Generation 8 consoles. Would have given them more time to work on a better game, consumers wouldn't be so angry about the reposes(assuming they would have still happened), and THEN they could have launched a decent TV series as filler between Game 1 and Game 2. Not that they'll air it here anyway so I don't know why I even made this post 'smilie

I don't think the average consumer is as upset about reposes as we'd like to think. Sure, they have an extra attack that may or may not make our current, fully-built characters obsolete, but this is also a series of toys, and toys have re-poses. How many different versions are there of a Han Solo action figure, or Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe? How many versions of just Iron Man can you buy whenever a new wave of Iron Man toys comes out? At least 2-3. Making new versions of the same essentially DLC characters and re-selling them may be new, but putting the same character into a different pose is a time-honored tradition of the action figure industry, so it's really pretty normal that they're doing this.
