If this stacks with the 3-packs and Adventures "on sale" for MSRP (minus the TRU tax), this could actually be an OK deal if you can find stock.

i got a buy one get one free deal, i bought six for the price of three (this was when skylanders costed $8)

whats the deal with sales this early?... its still a long time before giant arrive....

They are stupid, they need to bring down the price of the starter packs, just to get them out there. Little kids will nag their parents for new skylanders, so they will make their money back on the toy purchases. They have got to create new interest, as those of us that want them all, have them all.

There's no advantage to the STORES to permanently drop the price of the starter packs - they already paid a higher cost to get them so they'd just lose money on the transactions.

There's an entire summer that will pass, and at least four months before we'll see Giants. During that time, those little kids will continue to nag their parents until they finally crack and buy a starter pack, and eventually more figures after that. Much better to get higher profits in a couple months as opposed to taking a loss today.

They don't really need new interest, as 90% of the people who own the game don't even have a Skylander of each element yet. And when Giants introduces gates that require 2, 3 or even 4 Skylanders of the same element to be able to open, that will help them sell more figures as well.


Permanent price drops are rare. But if you pay attention, you can find good deals - I bought my starter pack new for $29.99 from Best Buy two months ago, and I haven't seen a sale that good since.

Look how expensive they can be. The sale at TRU, may just be a way for people to think, huge sale, and then buy more giving them more money.

I remember this deal like in Janurary. Yeah I got hex, eruptor, and Stump. Good deal I think. A TRU by me has the skylanders filled! Every time I go always filled, they have all old ones but still they get a few good ones.

If the had Wham Shell at my local TRU, maybe then I would go.

That's just because retailers are making Wii U games $99.99 because they don't know the actual price. It's not just Skylanders Giants. It won't actually cost 100 bucks when it releases.

Yeah, actually does this stack with last weeks sales? Or did they jack up the price again? I haven't been to TRU for quite a while.

The deal on the 3-packs and adventures was still active on the TRU site when I looked at this ad. I just looked again and they have changed from that deal to the 40% off instead. So no stacking.

This sale definitely payed off for me today. Bought the last Wham-Shell they had, as well as a Blue Bash.
