My family is new to the Skylanders World and my son and I were wondering if any of the variants have different appearances in game besides the legendary ones. Thanks in advance for your help.

No. The variants appear like the regular figures in-game. The only difference is that they are painted differently. In-game, they are exactly the same.

Some variants start at level 5 with 2100 gold. I think the silver variets are the only ones that start at level 1 with no gold.

They're all the same, really. Except some of them come at Level 5 with 2000+ gold (I know gold does and blue Bash, who else does?), but that's about the only difference.

ive got glow in the dark wrecking ball and zap, gold drill sergeant and flameslinger, clear cynder and stealth elf, and yes of course blue bash, they are all level 5 and 2100 gems out of the box

The variants, unless your willing to pay a ton of money for them as collector's items; aren't worth the trouble.
Only varant I have is blue bash, and much like everyone has said, they aren't any different in-game than the regulars. Only difference is some of them start at lvl. 5 and have 2100 gold.
Not really worth it.

Any variants (GITD, crystal, blue, silver, gold) don't show up any different in-game and really are not worth going for.

They're just painted Skylanders, y'know.

Have you guys found WERDS? (Walmart Exclusive Red Drill Sergeant) Pretty easy to find at walmart but right now only Western US has been able to find them.

One person in california posted a pic in the thread and said there were 24. I saw about 18 on the shelf and a shipment box with some WERDS and wave 1 skylanders

Yeah i dont think the scalpers know about this My dad said he will buy me another and 2 more because i already have 1 but 1 to use and one to keep sealed. The other 2 my dad wants to sell on ebay because he just heard of the skylanders ebay scalping. He said its a great idea to make money een though he is a bird breeder

not the one before wave 3

but the crystal red/ruby variant

he has been spotted in the central coast, west coast, and now other places.

Ruby Drill Sergeant is on the East coast now btw. I picked one up today. I also found a Blue Bash! I picked hi up too.
