I would be surprised, actually, if a similar deal weren't in the works with Target. Skylanders was untested last fall, and they still had an exclusive. Now, it's a hot property, an emerald variant is guaranteed to sell out, and Target is going to want back in on the action. Probably with Whirlwind who, despite her popularity, is still without a variant. They might even launch it soon. The door is wide open.

Why is there some sort of plastic wrap at the top? Looks fishy to me, I am afraid...

EDIT: I wrote this before seeing the second page (went to a meeting and had not done a page update before responding). I have now bought one - I could have gotten it $9 cheaper but did not want to muck around getting the vendor to agree to ship to Oz or have to ask someone to forward to me.

However, for the record a 3D printer could have cloned an item in translucent plastic.

Thats why dont order off of ebay kids!

The plastic comes on Skylanders when they're taken out of the box. If you order online from amazon or something it usually has the plastic strip still on it. These Skylanders were likely removed from the box and bought by employees.

The plastic wrap is sometimes shipped on the top of single and triple packs. I'm not sure why, because it's not like it's actually protective or anything, but I've seen numerous boxes opened that contained this, found them on the shelves on occasion, and received them with my Flocked Stump Smash and random Boomers. They're impractical... but real.

Yes...24 WERDS, and no one else knows about them. Bought one for the boy and one for his best friend.

After ZERO variants in our area since last fall, we've now picked up Blue Bash and this Drill Sergeant in two days! WHOO-HOO!

@matthewgerber Sweet picture and find man! I live on the East coast so I'm guessing I will have to wait a couple weeks. I did pick up a blue bash at Toys R Us today though. They had at least 20 of them out.
