Yeah everyone can, im waiting until it comes out cause when i preordered for the first game it was $80 for the starter pack so i got it and the first day it was released i walked into Big W and there they were all of the characters that had been released and starter packs including Drill Sergeant for $60 i ended up buying one and returning the one i got off the pre order

EDIT: Hey has anyone noticed the bumps with the white tips on the Water Giants Arms? Maybe he'll spurt out water out of them or something

I wonder if we can preorder toys as well.

I've been thinking of buying some more figures, but before I do I'd like to know:
Does anyone think I'd be really missing out if I just used the originals and not the remodels? I've forgotten, do the remodels have the ability to use both original upgrade paths, or do they have a choce between a new third path, what's going on there?

I haven't had official word on this, but I would be extremely surprised if any of the characters released as LightCore will be available without that feature unless they're special variant releases (legendary, silver, glow in the dark etc.). Just doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

Hey all, just found this post about e3 information, seems to suggest that new skylanders will only get one new special move... at least that's what it says. Here's hoping, since that would mean they pretty much wont be overpowered compared to our original skylanders.

I'm really trying to be optimistic and hope that Activision tries really hard to strike a balance between forward compatibility with the old models and giving new models some special features to draw new purchases. If they truly want to make this a huge franchise that's going to last any amount of time they really need to not sacrifice forward compatibility in favour of making money on new models. imo anyways...

Well that sounds pretty cool. Maybe Skylanders 3 will have something like this.

^ I think a cool thing to add would be to have 'combo skylanders' meaning two characters of different elements can be put on the portal at once to make a combined creature or some new Skylanders would be brought in that would be based on two elements instead of one.

right now my biggest question would be: would collecting all the series two figures count in game? would you have to buy 24 redesigns, 8 lightcores, and 16 new skylanders for it to be 100%? or would you only have to buy 16 new figures, & have the original 32?

edit what im asking is, do the redesigns and lightcores act like different characters ingame? (like legendaries)

I don't really see why it matters now, if you want to complete your Skylanders roster 100% and it turns out you need to have both the normal and Lightcore varients then buy the other 4 Skylanders - if not then don't buy the extra 4.

From the looks of it, all the series 2 Skylanders have the same "name" per se as the regular ones. The only difference that I've seen is the one photo of Shroomboom that says "LightCore Shroomboom". I'd assume the game would log them as different, but I think when we saw LC Prism Break, it didn't say anything different....so...

The LightCore and non-LightCore Shroomboom has completely thrown me for a loop. I'll be really surprised if they actually release both of those, as it doesn't fit with the numbers they've given. I wonder if the non-LightCore is just another example of them playing around with poses, like we've seen with Terrafin.

just curious, im not planning on buying a single redesign (except for legendaries and lightcores), so i wanted to know if they technically counted as different figures. because it would suck if the game counted series 1 prism break as- lets say pm1, series 2, as pm2, and lightcore as pmlc. (like how if you bought two bashes and a l bash, you would technically get 2 figures.)

I found a new interview that i dont think has been posted on here but the person working for activision said theres a new battle mode called "Ring It" i think it was called that and there is the screenshot of all the new skylanders that goes out like a millimetre further so you can just see the start of a skylander next to the earth dragon thing

^ I think that Skylander is chop chop. I think what you're talking about is his sword. But maybe I might be wrong and you can point it out.

Not sure if this was brought up yet, but has anyone else noticed that Pop-Fizz sounds like he is being voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait.

yep! faun mentioned that on the page before this. :) pop fizz might find his way into faun's skylanders collection on this alone. bobcat goldthwait is great. :)

I have no doubt it exists and it was at E3, but I wouldn't take that as confirmation it's going to be released in that form. Same applies for everything shown in the trailer.

Update: Scratch what I've just said entirely, sounds like Andy @ Family Gamer TV has confirmed that each LightCore character will also be released in different pose without LightCore



In that video, we also get the best look at LightCore Eruptor, which looks far better than the pictures have shown.

Assuming we get three new reposes of each type we can determine just from the already reveals that there will be no Boomer or Ghost Roaster repose.

Here is who we know for sure sorted by type:

Life- Zook
Fire- Eruptor
Earth- Terrafin, Prism Break,

I hope repose preference goes to those figures that change their appearance through upgrades:
gets armor, please no goggles! they do nothing!
gets armor and boomerangs change
gets spikes
gets thorns and meat tenderizers, my #1 pick for a repose
does not change but gets the bebes
sword changes, what about shield on back?
axe changes, really hope he gets a repose with it
changes but figure doesn't? ! would really like to see a prismancer yellow version. I think the green backpack look on crystaleer is awful. I won't buy his repose or lightcore unless the final is a prismancer version.

Hey, are giants upgradable with more than one power, like the regulars? Do they have wow pow or soul gem? And for that matter, are there new soul gems returning in this, or were they replaced by wow pow.

Teh giants do have upgrades, as the crusher preview clearly shows him having two different hammers.
