Or is it? The Booster is $15 cheaper. The cost (at Toys R Us anyway) of two skylanders is about $20. So really, you're saving money. Unless you could get the Skylanders elsewhere for cheaper.

Actually the booster pack will have tree rex, jet vac, and cynder remodel too.

The Giants portal has orange perspex rather than the green for Spyro Portal.

One of the Toyfaire interviews stated that the only difference would be that there would be a version with a portal and one without but the figure and software selection would be the same. I will try and hunt down the video. I have family visiting from out of state so it might take a while.

Update:
Bestbuy calls them "Portal Owners Packs" which tells me that it's for Skylander fans that already have a portal.

The new portal is different, i think its bigger, emphisize on THINK. And depending on the element of the figure, the base colour will change

The new portal is no bigger, although the element of the figure does change the base, the weird-runic-thingies on the side and the big glowy bit on tops colour.

Like i said, EMPHISIZE ON THINK!

Seems like it yeah. The one specifically for people who already have the first game only comes with Giants and Tree Rex.

It all depends though on what they have Day 1. If they're going to have Pop Fizz be an temporary exclusive for the 3DS (Which it seems to be right now) then that'll probably be the only option to get him.

I'm pretty sure they said that Jet-Vac and Pop Fizz will be purchasable seperately at launch. I saw an interview where the question was asked but I can't find it.

Yes, the PC portal works with every version besides 360

It's becuse the Xbox has an extra layer of encryption which is standard for Xbox devices.

What kind of customer service is that?!?!

That's them being polite for once. Previously they have simply ignored requests, given dodgy or plain wrong information. Then again most of the requests on the TRU UK or spam, "my item broke", "my online order was blotched", or "staff in store X were rude".

On topic - so far in the UK there are no preorders or any prices of Giants that I'm aware of. Kind of sucks as I'd like to know how much this might hurt my wallet in advance

I assumed that $75 would be the price-originally, skylanders was $70 and a giant costs $5 more than a regular fig. I'd like to know the prices for the regular figs and giants for the UK as well.

Neat to see the main games available via preorder and all that. I hope they'll do preorders for the individual figures too. I'm still on the fence about getting any new characters because the earlier ones were such a pain to hunt down. But if I could just preorder them and passively wait, I'd totally go for it.

Do we know if Pop Fizz and Jet Vac are going to be available outside of the Starter packs?
