How are the Giants being introduced into the story and world of Skylanders Giants?

First off, thanks very much for your interest in Skylanders Giants. We can’t say enough about how happy we are with the success of Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, and how excited we are about Skylanders Giants.

But speaking of the Giants, they were actually the very first Skylanders to exist...kind of like how dinosaurs were the first humans. Although I guess, technically, dinosaurs weren’t really the first humans (or were they?). But similar to the dinosaurs, the Giants were around many thousands of years ago; they were huge like dinosaurs; and they also just completely disappeared one day. Back then, an evil race of magical technological beings called the Arkeyans ruled over Skylands with an iron fist. And I mean that literally. The source of all the Arkeyans’ power was an enchanted iron fist. Anyway, it was the Giants who banded together to free Skylands from the evil Arkeyans reign. This final battle between the Giants and the Arkeyans is what led to the Giants being blasted to Earth, where they were buried for centuries.

When Kaos (resident “bad guy” of Skylands) manages to reactivate one of the old Arkeyan war machines, the Giants become unearthed, and must return to Skylands to deal with this ancient threat once again.

Will the hub world be handled in the same way?

It’s a little different this time around. Where Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure had players returning to the same location every time, Skylanders Giants is a bit more of a road trip. Players will embark on a long journey via this amazingly unlucky airship - piloted by Flynn – and return to this airship after each level and then flying the airship to the next level. But, like the Hub in Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, this airship changes over time. You’ll pick up new parts for the ship along your way. Plus, plenty of stowaways.

True, and I think there's a rule about not going off topic, in any case, peopl seem to get more bothered by people disrupting a whole topic by getting hung up on such small and insignificant things. Also what wanderist said. Really though, I just don't get why ppl get so uppity over harmless litle things like this.

does anyone have links for these new trailers? faun was busy watching the xbox show for tomb raider stuff (which faun has now seen) and has thus missed the skylanders stuff.

There are no new trailers out yet. But there has been an announcement on the SkylandersGame facebook that E3 trailer of Giants will be posted tomorrow 10 a.m. PDT.

@bionicle2809 - The Expansion Pack (confirmed to be named Booster Pack) in fact contains Tree Rex, the Game and the extras - it doesn't contain Jet Vac/Pop Fizz or Cynder.

I'll probably buy the Starter depending on the price compared to the booster. I'm low on money right now because of other games ( *glares at Halo 4* ) and I need money for Skylanders themselves. Anyway, if the price of the Booster, Jet-Vac and Cynder is cheaper than the Starter then I'll buy that combination rather than the Starter. A back-up portal would be nice though.

Question: Will remodels work with both Skylanders games, or just Giants?
See, I need an undead skylander and I want drobot, but I thought I'd wait till the remodels come out to get the new abilities (if I get giants at all) but if I can't use new toys with the older game I'll just get them sooner and use them in giants.

Cool trailer. Pause it around 2:05 to check out 2 new giants... bringing the known total up to 4, I believe. Hopefully they reveal more details about these characters soon.

EDIT: Just noticed the fairy-chick just up and to the right of Bouncer. She's holding some kind of 2-bladed weapon. A new rival for stealth elf perhaps?

Also I was wrong. There's another new giant partially hidden behind the Cynder remodel (you can tell they're giants from the irregular bases). I see Earth, Air and Water so far. Man, they revealed a lot in those few seconds!

Long ago, Bouncer was an All-Star Roboto Ball player. His big, lively personality helped popularize the sport, but after taking too many hits to the head, he retired and the sport faded away. Bouncer then became a security-bot in the Crystal Mines. It was there he encountered dozens of Mabu from his Roboto Ball fan club that had been enslaved by the Arkeyans. Not wanting to let his fans down, Bouncer came out of retirement and began shooting at a new goal – defeating the Arkeyan King. Soon after he teamed up with other Giants, and together they became the first Skylanders.

So... Can new toys work with Skylanders one?
Also, what's tha behind drill srg? A dragon, a pheonix or a gryphon? It seems to be shooting flames.

So we all see the giant whale with an anchor, that clearly seems to be the water giant, but what about the base?! It looks like the water base, except for the color - it isn't that translucent aqua that all the others have? Anybody have any ideas?!

Nice catch on Ignitor! But I only see two arms on the slam bam... But I can't think of anything else it can be, because the new water skylander is in the center in a small blue cap. Also there is reposed terafin, looks amazing!!, behind prism break. there is also e new earth skylander behind Ignitor, seems to be a crystallized creature mostly white, with blue highlights. And I agree with e argument for the silver giant with a hammer being earth because of the base rather than undead. Also is that drobot in the back with lasers coming out of his eyes?!!

Also, I know the PC portal will light up if plugged into the Wii, but will it actually work on th wii, or do I need the starter pack?

And I think I see another dragon between Ignitor and Prism Break. It's all white.

Hey, do you think that they will have gates specific to each giant, dependin on the element, like whath thy did in S:SA? In other words, do you think we'll need to buy a giant of each element to reach 100%?

I'm guessing the Bee/Wasp Air giant is the female of the bunch. Wasn't it said there would be a female giant?

The E3 Trailer of Skylanders Giants is awesome! And I can't wait to try Jet-Vac and Pop-Frizz!

Still, I hoped to see Spyro in some way in the trailer, but if the developers said that he will have a role in the game, well, I'm still happy

^Speaking of the trailer, I kinda hope the cutscenes in the game look like that, but somehow I doubt they will.
