Just got my new issue of Nintendo Power today (March 2012, Issue 276) and they had a 4 page spread on Skylanders Giants!

Nothing really noteworthy except concept art of TreeRex, our unnamed Bird Skylander, but the coolest thing is the concept art of Terrafin which reveals he was at one time designed as a shark/penguin hybrid

I've scanned all 4 pages in, although you should pick up Nintendo Power if you see it in stores haha.

This is the internet. The grammar was sufficient enough for you to understand the post.

That is the point I am trying to convey - in this case it failed as I interpreted a different context than whay was intended.

This is why I endorse proof reading; it is unreasonable to expect perfect grammar/spelling all of the time. But when mangling the English language means that the message is lost, then a modicum of effort demonstrates that the poster does want to convey clearly and respects their own opinion enough to warrant the effort.

New enemies sounds cool. It'll be interesting to see Kaos interact with them (assuming he does).

What I'm majorly pumped about though is the alleged dynamic music and interesting enemy AI.

Would've loved for him to have the Hammerhead eyes though

No, I said "Their enemies?". If I implied that the Arkeyans were the enemies I would have said "They're the enemies?

arkeyans may be fine enemies. they weren't the good guys. also kaos can simple use their war machines against skyland

Maybe they were liars, maybe they really are enemies, and just had us help them so we could eliminate Kaos for them while they built up thier arms and such. We DID help them restore thier ancient civilization after all, at least in part.

It could be the Arkeyans, or a new enemy.

Hmmm... Arkeyans are the enemy. Cool! But...(everyone turns to chop chop and drill sarge menacingly).

From the Wiki, but I'll go check the Story Scroll to confirm.

"According to a Story Scroll, long ago, the evil Arkeyan sorcerers who lived within dark cities underground met their demise."

Although, this is all speculation of course. I don't think they ever say 10K years exactly, just "many eons ago" or "ancient".

Hence, my initial confusion as how these are worded made me think you indeed meant "they're the enemies". No matter, I misinterpreted and we can move on to the next region of this level to gain our completion star...

I am still hoping for one of the new giants to be Arkeyan it would be fun to have another Arkeyan character, especially if they are actually good.

i want the arkeyan real steel robot from the arkeyan armory as the tech giant, just to sing "till i collapse" while i play with him

It should definitely be a magic giant imo. Magic hasn't had an arkeyan yet and they were the ones who used and guarded the magic eternal source, they were all wizards and whatnot so it would make sense.

They can be background characters. However, Terrafin is a landshark and a shark/penguin does not seem very "earthy".

i think the arkeyan statue helped us just because he was bored. being a statue for 10000 years isn't very fun

we actually never saw a "real" arkeyan, just their magical machines. i think that the arkeayns were humans and now they are all dead. just their machines survived.

i know it seems weird to ask but i am new and want a good pic like chaos warrior or aura24 or even geeky cat just something like that.

we actually never saw a "real" arkeyan, just their magical machines. i think that the arkeayns were humans and now they are all dead. just their machines survived.

i think the arkeyans use skeletons and put them in armor to make new ones. because the skeletons in chop chop, the arkeyan hammahs and the ones in the levels have a humanoid skeleton, i would assume so too.

Figured we might as well add all scans from NP here. No sense making new topics for each little thing. There's only 2 pages, unlike the last 4 page spread.

Everything that was posted before is in there, although I have to argue the point about "not all of the giants will light up". The article states "Some of the Giants will also have light features.", but it doesn't rule out any NOT being able to light up. I can see the wording as ambiguous though.

EDIT: Oh, other noteworthy things:

-Jet Vac is apparently a "Sky Baron" from the land of Windham, and had magical wings, but gave them up to a mother so she could get her children to safety. (AWWWW!)
-Pop Fizz has used so many potions that even he doesn't remember what his original color is.
-Since these look to be the bios for the characters, the specific mention of "berserker" in Pop Fizz's bio make me think his alternate, crazy form is a "Beserker Mode". That's just me though.
-Tree Rex's bio mentions the Arkeyans as the ones who original caused him to change; they built a factor near to where he originally lived to build their War Machines.

Honestly, if they are going to be doing this (I mean, the booster only having the game and Rex), you might as well just buy the whole dang thing again since for the $10 your saving, you're getting another portal and 2 more figures....

Speaking of the Portal, is it me or is the one in all the preview shots showing the part at the bottom changing colors too? If that's really like that (and not just the plain green like the original), that could be another driving point to get a second portal.

Would love to see a concrete source listing the price on the booster pack..otherwise that is what I would do with buying the whole thing.

I really want to get the starter pack but I don't want two portals! I hope they have single packs available when they release the booster pack so you can get the two new ones and Cynder

it has been confirmed that you can get the figures from the pack that has the portal without buying it. as in, i could get both alchemist and airgle without buying the game. (but i think tree rex is still exclusive) it was in a page of the magazine
