If they are a Ripto, it means they're banned. To get a different sparx color, you have to keep gaining gems by visiting and posting.

Ripto is a user, different than a Gnorc, that is banned. A Gnorc is a user that is banned for 1-2 weeks.

Keep posting and coming on to go up a level.
