Recently, Pixieluv (from the Skylanders Armory site) sent me a bunch of Skylanders to paint.
Here's what I've come up with so far:

[User Posted Image]
Boomer painted to look like a goblin from WoW

[User Posted Image]
Shiny - notice the coins by his feet that are usually unpainted

[User Posted Image]
Painted as a WoW Feydragon (Those butterfly wings were tough!)

[User Posted Image]
Arms reposed. Painted as an Akrean Drill-bot

[User Posted Image]
Purple scales with new armor

[User Posted Image]
A work in progress, made of mud instead of lava

[User Posted Image]
Flameslinger repainted as a character from WoW called "Illidan Stormrage" They look exactly alike! http://www.wowwiki.com/Illidan_Stormrage

[User Posted Image]
Sonicboom painted as a Griffin from WoW

[User Posted Image]
I almost painted this one with glitter, but that didnt work out so I did 2-tone green on the scales.

[User Posted Image]
Stealth elf painted as a WoW Night Elf

[User Posted Image]
Triggerhappy painted as some kinda goblin

[User Posted Image]
Whirlwind with rainbow colored wings tail and horn. (Work in progress)

Another work in progress

Good job on those. I'm really wanting to make a Legendary Stealth Elf for one of my kids.....can you give me any tips on what paint to use? Ideally one that can sustain a little bit of actual kid play. They are not rough with them but do play with them.

Thanks.

Wow. I think these are some of the best custom painted skylanders I've seen. My favs are Drill Sergeant and Boomer. Great job!

Thanks for the compliments!

Fernandez2: Advice? Use acrylic paints. Any of the normal ones you can get at a hobby store. Do NOT use Enamel paints. They stay sticky forever and eat away the plastic. THe paint is pretty durable, but if you are expecting heavy play, use a protective spray clear coat.

If you want to take off the arms or other pieces like I did on Drill Sgt, put the figure into boiling water for a minute or two. THe heat will soften the plastic allowing you to pop the limbs off.
