That Boomer is an abomination. The only way to get rid of it is to burn the entire block down.

This is what happens when kids play with kids toys.
Its the adults who actually paid for them with their hard earned cash who carefully pack them up after each use and build safe storage displays.

Kids ruin too many things skylanders cost money. That's why they should earn the money their self so they will learn the worth of a dollar.

Hey, I'm 14 and completed my Skylanders collection using money that I earned through mowing lawns, etc. I'm sick of people complaining about how bratty kids are, but once I spend time around some, I know it's true. You wouldn't believe how many times I see KIDS drop their iPhones that their parents bought for them and be like all 'lolz, my screen broke! Now I get a new one!' It pisses me off, the way people spoil their children.

I have to pay for my own phone bills and such and I don't even have a great phone like iPhone, my parents would never spoil me like people do to their 9 year olds

I had a prepaid phone which I paid for and it only made calls, which I paid for completely myself. My parents refuse to buy me anything I don't need, and while I obviously don't like it, it'll make me grow up to be a person that treats stuff with respect and knows to work for what I want.

^Not necessarily true, that's just what society wants you to believe...that having a strict upbringing is the key to successfully making a responsible adult. If your family cannot afford such things, that's one thing, but if they are refusing simply for the sake of refusing or for the good of your upbringing, it could very likely make you extremely resentful of your parents later in life (hello therapy, hello old folks home) and invariably cause you to cling onto your childhood for a much longer period of time than you should. You may even find that when you do make good money, you'll spend a large amount of that income on toys or games that you don't even have time to play in order to make up for your long lost childhood. You may find that you've grown into a selfish and uncaring person who values their own needs above all others around them because that is what you've worked towards for your entire life. Spoiling a child is not a good thing sure, but life is not about having one extreme or another, it's about finding a good balance somewhere in between. Trinkets aren't everything, they come and go, don't worry about what other parents are doing for their kids, that's none of your business, but make sure to have fun now and to not sacrifice the fun of your childhood for the sake of growing up in order to get things you don't need, you'll have the majority of your life to be freaking miserable about everything, just be happy and have fun now. Grumble grumble...

I wasn't trying to offend the kids and pre teens that do take care of their stuff. I'm talking about the ones that ask for stuff from their parents then ruin it usually within a month. Growing up I got an allowance that I worked for and my parents only bought me stuff that I needed except acourse on special occasions. And when I hit 14 I got my first job and paid my phone bills and extra stuff that I wanted but didn't actually need. And I think that was good. My parents made me responsible and not spoiled. Now I have my own son but he's just 10 months right now

I agree sykotek, lets just say I am married with kids, my parents brought me nothing and when I brought my first phone with my own money I got you don't need it why did you waste your money on that, but they still called me on it, now that i didn't get things I have brought a ps3 all the skylanders and what do i have to show for it $500 worth of toy's that are infact just toys. Don't get me wrong here in australia I could proberly sell it as a complete set for a profit but yeah.
Oh and your signature levan, my wife is a hairdresser and a succesful one at that so don't be quick to judge others.

Well, we have money, but I just must earn it. Rather than buying me things, my parents give me ridiculous amounts of money for doing different chores. I make $40 weekly simply for mowing the lawn, cleaning the house. Most of the things I want are things that I can save up for myself and are somewhat practical to me. I've never really liked toys and trinkets much, but I love electronics and video games. I have all the games I need, and saving up for a computer will help me not rely on my parents for everything and survive without living in my mum's basement to skip out on rent.

I think that what your parents are doing is good for you. At a young age kids dont value money because they dont know how hard it is to earn (at least for some of us). Now that you buy your stuff with your earned money, you take care of it cause you value the work you put in order to obtain what you wanted. Sadly some parents dont give the right values to their children mostly because they didnt gain it themselves.

Oh yes, this irritates me to no end! I have a cousin (he's like 6 or 7) and he sort of thinks that his mom can buy him anything he wants if he asks for it. Thankfully he's not nearly as spoiled as those type of kids, but I still try to teach him that you can't have everything you want because money is hard to earn. Also, I can't believe those Skylanders on ebay were sold. *facepalm* Well, you know what they say: 'One person's trash is another person's treasure...' ...I guess.

Some people clearly don't read shipping charges. It costs about $1.50 to ship an unboxed Skylander. They essentially paid retail price for seriously disfigured merchandise, and deserve what they got.
