anyone know what a good paint is to make skylanders that look like the silver/gold varients? i wanna paint some up for my kids!!

i wouldnt sell anything on ebay. i want to have a complete set of skylanders out of the package. i would never pay 100+ for a skylander though. especially if i could just paint one that looks exactly like the real deal.

actually i might buy a metallic cynder though. and i will open it from its package.

Just buy a couple of figures and test them out for yourself. Might be able to pick up a couple of opened packages from Craigslist or GameStop. Even if you buy them new, it's only $8 to test it out.

Problem is that you don't have a real one to compare it to. But if it's just for your own display, who cares?

Best thing is to check out gamestop. Their returned ones are only $4.99.

I don't know if you'd be able to get the exact same color scheme as the Gold/Silvers, but you might want to try Rust-oleum "Metallic" silver spray paint. I used it on an Metagross figure from Pokemon, and it worked pretty good. Just cover up the base and spray away.

The returned ones by my gamestop are $8 and i saw slam bam there used for $15, i dont know why he was more expensive since it was just him alone

Probably because you CAN'T buy him alone. Still pretty weak on GameStop's part, though. Asshats.

Per the folks at my GameStop that filled me in on this before it was even rumored, the figures are going to be priced based on popularity/rarity/availability just like their games tend to be. If you've shopped there long enough to remember when they still carried used NES cartridges, it'll be a lot like that. We'll likely end up with some common figures that go for higher prices (as SMB3 did back in the day, despite it being one of the most common games out there) but can mostly expect to see "common" figures go in the $5-7 range while rarer figures command a premium.

just wait until giants get released, then there will be no more new batch produced of the old. price will rocket through the roof, only in america of course. as europe or the rest didn't get the toys send to them until they lost total interest in the game. you can thank activi$ion for that....

Best idea ever. Buy some cheap paints instead of spending a large amount of money on a variant.
