I was just on eBay searching up Gold and Silver Skylanders (don't judge me, I like seeing the prices people put on them) when I saw there was no topic (that I know of) that asked which kind of paint job do people prefer of them.

So, which paint job do you think looks better? Gold or silver?

I personally think the silver looks better but the gold is cool too.

Clear is totally better and much harder to counterfeit too...that's probably why Activision/Toys For Bob have decided to move in that direction for their variant figures since there's no way to tell the figure is genuine by the paintjob. People have been discussing how to cleanly open the packages to counterfeit Gold and Silver Skylanders ever since shortly after I found this place. The only Gold and Silver characters you should ever buy are at retail because ones on eBay and through resellers can be faked.

To answer your question though, I personally think the Silver characters look better than the Gold ones, but if you want Silver characters, you can easily paint your own.

nah, no big deal i was just genuinely curious why you only chose gold and silver

and of those 2 i would have to say gold because the choice of characters for the gold are more appealing (well to me any way)

I like the silver ones because I've never been much of a gold person. I prefer silver rings/jewelry over gold.

I agree with sykotek; the clear ones are much harder to fake then the gold/silvers.

That being said, I've always been partial to Gold painted things. I guess it just looks better to me!

Personally I think gold is a tacky colour... it's for people who want to look like they have money to splash around. Silver is subtle and understated. Also gold is esentially metallic yellow... and I'm not a fan of yellow.
