I got the same dull stares from electronics when asked to go to the back.

Sooooo....

I took a toy to the customer service desk and asked her if she could see how many were in stock for me, she scanned and told me 60 or so. So when I went back and asked if they had any in stock I got the "Whats on the shelf is on the shelf" and they went straight back to their smart phone. I told them the customer service lady said, they had 60 in stock so that's not accurate.

They sigh put down their phone and explain that 60 is too many to go through. I offer to go through it for them..

They concede and disappear into the back, and come out around 3 minutes later, smiling saying "nope, no Whirlwind".

"I didn't ask for Whirlwind, I asked for Warnado"

"None of him as well"

"Did you check the number on the side of the box? I gave you that number on that paper."

"That number doesn't mean anything to our system, the UPC codes are what matter."

"... Thanks for looking"

on their phone, "mmmhmmm"

My successes are variations of that.

I did get nice and helpful employees as well, but they struck out and couldn't find anything.

I work at Walmart. The back room is divided up by department and each shelf/box has a barcode on it that is scanned when the boxes are put away. It is called 'binning'. They can scan the UPC on any Skylander and find the exact location in the back room. No 'searching' involved. Though, to be honest, and this is just around here, there are just no Skylanders. There isn't enough stock for them to really be in the back. I mean, I don't doubt some Walmart have them in the back but I'd believe at least 80-90% when they're telling you they're not in the back. You have to know these associates are being asked probably at least 100 times a day about Skylanders. Don't feel too bad if they're telling you no right off the bat. Usually if you go check something once in your shift, it's not going to hangs before you leave at the end of your shift.

That said, yes, there are terrible associates. Don't hesitate to go to management or even ask for the store manager if you feel you're being jerked around. 9 times out of 10, if you go to mgmt, that associate who was being a jerk is going to at least be questioned about it. And even if they lie and tell mgmt they did nothing wrong, maybe it will open their eyes that you can get them in trouble and maybe, just maybe, they'll be a little nicer and a little more helpful next time.

At least you've had some people go into the back. Anytime I ask I get the old "what we have is already out". On the off chance they will scan an item for me I find they are usually telling the truth because they'll show me that it lists nothing in the stock room.

I just seem to have really bad luck when it comes to finding things I'm looking for. Which usually ends up in me buying them online for more money and than it usually shows up everywhere.

Maybe just might be my night! My walmart was to have gotten in 6 cases tonight on their truck that have Camo and Warnado in them. I can't wait they are going to call me and I am going to go back and buy what ever they have in stock Yea.

I know what you mean. Some employees state that, "We didn't get anything in and I've been in the back and check already" and I'm cool with that and appreciate the help. If they are lying then at least the lie was convincing.

Sure they get asked about Skylanders alot its annoying.

I ask about Skylanders alot, that's equally annoying to me to have to do so, I want to be done more than they want it to be done. I don't blame them.

And truth. Some Walmarts just don't have any in stock yet. Its sporadic.

So nothing of note in tonights shipment, though I did actually chat with the Assistant manager tonight, He looked up the stock of the other stores one of them has quite alot though they are not a 24 hr store, so I'll be checking them in the morning and another is an hour away, Though after I talked to him he actually put all the figures from the back out on the shelf which is great for everyone who still needs wave 4, He said eariler he found a cynder in the back for a little girl and she was so happy she cried, So since they put them all out they'll have less stock soon which means new figures!

edit: Also Skylander figures are non-replenishable in Wal-marts inventory system, Which means they can't order any they come in when they get sent from activision then walmart higher divides them up....

I used the "my store" thing on the web which said my store had Camo and Warnado, so I got up this morning and was at Walmart shortly after it opened at 6 a.m. The good news is that the employees are super duper helpful at this timein the morning. The guy went back and checked the boxes and talked to his manager and everything. The bad news, no Camo or Warnado...I'm glad they're at GameStop now.

Gah! I just went looking and you're right! Still about $70 at most places! Skylanders must set a record on a handheld game not dropping in price a month after its out. The cheapest I could find it was $50 at Sam's Club, but that's still a whole lot.

I haven't paid for a game in literally years, with the Skylanders toys being the first time I've reached into my wallet since I purchased Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube the day it came out. I tell you that to tell you this: You need a 3DS. Why? Two reasons: Skylanders (I like the 3DS version as much or more than the Wii version) and Kid Icarus.

Because you are all on these boards, I assume you like video games. Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS is easily one of the best games of the past decade. Seriously, i know. I play MOST of the games that come out. This is the kind of game that sells systems... You know, like Halo? But unlike Halo, Kid Icarus is actually a great game. A lengthy single player mode, endless online multiplayer that is actually entertaining (for a change) and more unlockables than a Smash Bros. title.

So yeah, take the plunge. The 3DS is a great system, you'd add two Skylanders and a whole new version of the game (a version I personally like a lot) AND you would avoid committing a crime against nature by missing Kid Icarus! It's a win-win!

Woke up way earlier than I should have on a Saturday and asked the customer service employee to look up the UPC code for Camo. She said they had some in the back, but was unsure what the computer was really telling her. At that moment the manager walked up so she asked him to decipher the results. He asked if I had checked the shelfs and I said 'yes'. He paused for a minute and kinda sighed in defeat. He said they did have some Skylanders in the back, but that they were all mixed together so he didn't know if Camo was in there. I offered to help search for him so he said fine and lead me back to the electronics to wait as he went to get the boxes.

A few minutes later he returned with 6 unopened boxes. So I spent my morning opening and unpacking Skylanders. He opened a box and pulled out Warnado. I stopped what I was doing and told him that box looked promising. Sure enough next Skylanders out of the box was Camo! How exciting!

Its just boggling that in all those boxes there was just 1 each of Camo, Warnado, Lightning Rod and Zook. Seems so silly that the shipments are still a majority of the older Skylanders when its the new ones people want.

He did make an interesting comment as we were talking that Walmart had spent $256 million on Skylanders. Boy has this franchisee been successful for all involved.

Now my search is left to finding Dragon's Peak and Wham-Shell.

I work at Wal-Mart as well. At this point in time the issue is not as much about storage as how these things are recieved. The binning process is pretty standard for the overnight truck freight. The issue is these do not and have never come on Wal-Mart trucks. The company gets them as directs. This means they are often hidden on carts under piles of movies and Cd's to be stalked by Anderson vendors or placed in lockup with not yet street released items. I have come across many skylanders in the backroom and never found them binned in. They are normally in lockup and only management or inventory specialists have keys. If the store inventory claims there are skylanders there likely are despite what the bin location system says.

Yay! I havent had the luck yet but comes to show they are out there.

Yea I no they are out there and they will be found just a matter of time till you find them

He's right about the 3ds tip by the way. Awesome system Kid Icarus is a very good game. Little short but good. The Mario (Kart and Mario3ds) are also a blast!

I have damn near every system. Uncountable numbers of games, the game I don't own are actually very few lol. I also (even though I work at Gamestop) Only buy new games as well. Never had to dip into the used pull UNLESS I was hunting for an older title I missed out on!

Also. Yes I already own Skylanders for the 3ds as well. That's how I know it doesn't come with an Extra Gill Grunt sadly. I should be able to find one on the cheap eventually. Especially with Gamestop doing trade ins.

Welp, guess I was just talking to rude people.

I was checking Camo/Warnado online and didn't see any. So I figured I'd switch the location to another nearby Walmart and..lo and behold, it said they had the item in stock. However, upon calling, I was told that a lot of people had been calling, but that they did not actually have them. At least though, the guy I talked to told me the truck would be coming in at 4, and if it was a really big truck, they'd be done unloading it about 6. So, I'll try my luck there today. Hnngggh. Crossing my fingers.

Sorry to hear the problems with store associates. You gotta be downright pushy with them sometimes. Using the info in this thread, I immediately jumped on walmart.com and saw they were in stock at the one near me. When i went in to ask about more being in the back, the lady working there told me they are all put out, so I said look i know you guys have this particular one because they are in stock, the website says so. i just checked the website and I gave her the upc code, she looked em up and said okay hold on. She then went into the back and pulled out 2 boxes that had camo and warnado inside.
Freindly advice to you guys: Do not be afraid to just go in the back and double check for me, or ask to see their supervisor for not helping you. You are the customer. Sometimes to get what you want, you gotta work/fight for it. I just saved myself 100 dollars for being pushy.

camo acctually now has a image up for it on walmart.com

I am not trying to be a smartalic but the Walmart website only had a few places that were out of stock. If they are not in the store shouldn't they all be out of stock. I realize it is the beta version but is the "out of stock" mean something other then they don't have it.

They should but that local store item locator is broken. That's why I said before you can't go by it even when it shows the item in one of your local stores. For example it showed Warnado & Camo at two of the local Walmart's here and it stayed up there for over a week. But both stores never got either of them in.

I got the 3ds starter about 2 months ago caught it on sale at TRU 50% off it ended up being tax and all around $35 and at the time i didnt have dark spyro or ignitor then took stealth elf and sold it for $15 so it was a score for me all'n all I ended up paying $20 for 2 figures, 3ds portal and game

Local Walmarts got lots in today. I had checked over 20 times, probably 50 no luck. Found Warnado and Camo today at 2 different Walmarts. Maybe they are finally trying to supply the demand. Found in Bedford and Arlington Texas. My son was so happy. I happy I can stop looking. Now on to Wham Shell!

Just found 2 Wham Shells and a Camo at Walmart.
