The title say it all, i miss the old spyro, the spyro of LoS trilogy, that games made me cry :c.

I hope someday, a companie resurrect the little purple dragon that all we know.

Hm, yeah, that little purple Dragon was very loveable.
I wouldn't say I really miss him, though, I can always go back and play his Original game again!

The Legend trilogy was quite good, but I'll get you a tissue box if you need one, lol...
But maybe they will go back to the original that we all know.

You never know with Activision or Universal or Insomniac or whoever is making the Spyro games now!

It's not like the old Spyro "died" or anything. I am personally pleased with re-playing the old games. Even if I do manage to complete everything in it.

Wish people would get over Skylanders already

In the scenario where I had no way of playing the games anymore, I'd still say no. Or at least a maybe.

The new one coming out is Skylanders: Giants. Who knows when a full Spyro game will come.

Yeah, I'm waiting the next game too. Meanwhile I'm playing the old games but I really I want to see a remake of the old ones, like The Original Series and/or the TLoS Series for the "Advanced" Consoles (Xbox 360, Wii, PC, PS3, etc...) like other games (GoW, Silent Hill 2 and 3, Jak and Daxter for the PS3, etc)

Of course, but Skylanders braught back the classic feel, like Spyrobaro said, because Spyro had his old personality back, and the many refrances.

So, Skylanders is REALLY awesome, but my heart still goes to the "classics".

There's dozens of classic Spyro games. It's hard to miss him.

I am a spyro fan too big, but i need to say this: Each Spyro over the years has touched my heart. I miss all of them, whether I know one's coming back, or one is not with us. This is the same for every Spyro transformation there ever was. Skylanders, LoS, Classics, all of them! So yes, I do miss classic spyro, but I also miss the rest of the Spyros.

I love all 3 of Insomniac's Spyro games, but I don't miss the old Spyro. For one thing, I can still replay those games!

But also because Skylanders contains many of the things I loved about the old games, so in a way I feel like "old" Spyro is back. I know, I know. It's a reboot, and not set in the "classic Spyro" existence... but to me, honestly that doesn't matter. I understand that sort of thing is important to some people (perhaps moreso if you played the other "classic" games and not just the Insomniac ones) but I'm fine with it the way it is.

The only things from the Insomniac series that I wish was more prominent in Skylanders are more spacious level designs (for the go-anywhere factor the old games had) and I kinda miss Sparx. But that's not so bad, because I plan on buying the Dragon's Peak pack so that's good enough for me.

I liked Dawn of the Dragon too. I wasn't such a fan of Spyro's personality (he was too "generic hero" for my liking, and not as cheeky and cocky as he is in the classic series) and I think that maybe they went a bit overboard with trying to make the atmosphere of the game too serious (I like "epic" - the old games had that anyway - but I think they could have toned down the tragic/angsty side and the game would have been just as epic) but gameplay-wise I thought it was really exciting! Puts you right there in the middle of the action, which again reminds me of the old games.

So yes, I do love the old Spyro. But no, I don't miss him. As far as I'm concerned, the old Spyro never left.

Yes, I do miss the first three Spyro games and the good old classic Spyro. Spyro has honestly become a complete mess after ETD. But we all have to move on.

Skylanders has a few throw backs to the originals, such as the sheep, so it's not like they're gone completely. The game companies still have them in mind.

The sheep were a really nice touch in Skylanders.

Something else in Skylanders that I thought may be a nod to the classics - there's a rich brown bear in the ruins who looks suspiciously like Moneybags. Except he's much nicer - he gives you money instead of taking it from you! I've come to the conclusion that Moneybags is obviously his evil twin.

The first Spyro games were a part of my childhood and are important to me, and I think that Skylanders game brought back many of the elements the first trilogy had. In my opinion it would be awesome to have more Spyro games like the original, but I know that's not going to happen. I have to say I didn't really like the LoS trilogy because it just didn't feel like they were Spyro games at all (other 90s kids will probably agree with me on this).

I do miss Classic Spyro, but not very much. I miss Legend Spyro a lot more.

When I was introduced to spyro, it was between the GBA classics (because that was all I could get at the time) and the Legend series. I didn't give a flying flip where he was, I just wanted to play.
I love(d) both series until DoTD. Cynder kinda ruined it for me.
Skylanders is a breath of fresh air. The music sounds happy like the old games and it seems to have successfuly recaptured the atmospheare of the classics.
So, yes I miss the classics, but I realize that I'll have to make do with what I have. C:

I don't get why people think one character can ruin a whole game. It's not like you have to play as Cynder. There is the odd time where you will have to use her elements to activate something or get under a gate, and maybe when Spyro is low on health you will switch to her to suck up the damage you may take, but other than that, you can play the game as if it were just Spyro. As for cutscenes, it's not like she takes center stage or anything.

Something about her rubs me the wrong way.

Dude, I all i said was that she rubbed me the wrong way. Her DoTD personality didn't sit well with me. I dont hate nor love her. I didn't 'do' anything to her. Just stated an answer to a question.

I don't miss the old games. If I did I could just bring them up. I have the first and third waiting to be played once again. Time just passes, I guess..

All you gotta do is pick up your copy of the games; Classic or LoS.
Then you put it in your game system and play it again.

I still miss old-school Spyro but I could always play the old games over and over again when I feel like it. Since it's still the Year of the Dragon, I can play Spyro 3 any time I want when I'm not busy. As for Mario, the games and visuals may be new but the gameplay is still old-school. Heck, it's the same stuff, concepts and scenarios over and over again, e.g. Peach getting kidnapped every 5 seconds. I wish the recent Spyro games were like the new Mario games.

No... Because I own something called a video games console. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of it, but it can play these things called 'video games'! I know, crazy right?

But in all seriousness, you can't miss something that's still around.

Gotta agree with you there. *nods* But out of all the Spyros, I miss the old-school (Insomniac) Spyro even more. At least, I can contend myself with the new Mario and Kirby games.

The fandom isn't THAT bad.
As a member of the Sonic fandom, I've seen much worse.

From my personal experience, her fandom IS pretty horrible.

i miss the classic and the bad thing is that i lost all em' i don't reely like the los version that much cuz it's annoying how u always have to fight enemys afetr every second IT'S ANNOYING!

I'm thinking of playing any of the old-school Spyro games today, most specifically Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, due to obvious reasons. I'm just about finished with Mario Party 9.

Miss him? Not really.
As previously said, if I find myself missing him, I just whip out my old Playstation and a Spyro game. Spend the time I want filling my Spyro meter.
