Why are the Silver Skylanders worth a lot more than the Gold? [CLOSED]

I have all three gold Skylanders (bought them on eBay). I got Flameslinger for as low as $86, but when you check out the silvers they are going for $200 plus. Why is this?

I don't see why they are going for more money.

To be honest they are greatly over priced crap that you don't need. I can't see why people would spend that much money on a plastic TOY that is just a different colour.

@Zook: To answer your question, from what I heard...supposedly, unlike the gold figures, they are going out of print, so the quantity in circulation is all there is and more won't be produced...like Metallic Cynder and Pearl Hex.

^ This.
I haven't seen many Silver Skylanders lately but seen plenty of gold ones, so AT THE MOMENT, I'm going to assume there's going to be less silver ones made (permanently maybe).

Well if we can assume that one other poster wasn't just fibbing, they received both gold AND silvers in. From the looks of things, the silvers are flying off the shelves and the golds are ending up in more people who have a powerful online connection (either with photo sites where we're seeing the pics, or on ebay/amazon)

And don't tell me "BUT COLLECTORS COLLECT THINGS" because collecting is a waste of time and money. And I know, because I used to be a collector.

Because they're not making Silver's anymore, but golds are still being produced.

Oh, so maybe the golds will be like silvers at some point?

I wish they did another color in wave 4. I like the idea of collecting. I just wish I was collecting when the silvers were released.

These are so easy to impeccably forge that there's really no point in paying obscene prices for them. If you need a silver or gold for ultimate collector purposes some time down the line, don't track down the figure... look for the exact same paint Activision uses, and go from there. lawl

Not too shabby. I really need to dust off my eBay account.
