Just called my toys r us in Langley.They said they would get nothing but wave 4 on Friday around 3:00.I better get ready if I want that cynder/zook/lightning rod 3 pack!

Yeah, Fridays seem to be their main restock day. I'm sure I'll be lurking around my TRU every day until then anyway.

I also find tuesday to be my lucky day,and thursday to be the day to get any old ones.

Okay,since I'm basically out of options,so I called a toys r us in Metrotown.They said they have a full stock of wave 3 and one lone dragons peak.Well,at least some sign of wave 4 spreading through Canada.

I would guess that Activision is trying ot build hype around it for better sales. I am sure some stores will sell them, but it really depends on the management. They can get fined for selling items before a release date set by the company. It is the same as a movie theatre showing a movie before the release date... they normally have that movie sitting there anywhere from a couple of days to a week prior to the release date.

All I know is that I'll be checking the shelves all week regardless. So far nothing in Calgary from what I have seen though.

It would likely be to ensure most stores have stock and then announce it in the flyer. If stores truly are receiving and withholding stock, then undoubtedly we will see something in this thursday's flyer.

I think it's a way to help reduce the numbers sold by scalpers. Scalpers are the ones searching for the dates things appear on shelves and will be first in line to buy. If a date is set and made publicly it gives more people notice and a chance to make it to the stores to buy.

More people buying means less available for scalpers and less of an audience for scalpers to sell to because more people bought right from the stores.

TRU here has nothing new today.

Be sure to check your Future Shops and Best Buys. They should have some stock in by now. EB Games should be tomorrow.

List it on Kijiji for $30. It will sell within a few days.

^ exactly Kijiji is the way to go for sure! I have sold some figures on there no problem ....gone with in 2 days!!!!
I didn't want any doubles in my collection. You can trade on Kijiji too!

Just as a heads up, EB games in Calgary has the 3-pack with Lightning Rod, Zook and Hex as well as some other older ones (at least the one I checked). No DP yet though

Thanks for the tip. I called my local EB, assuming they wouldn't have any, but they just received a single wave 4 box 15 minutes prior. I got there 2 minutes later and bought the only rod/zook/cynder triple pack.

The box had two empire of ice, one old (boomer/prism break/whoever), and one new triple pack.

I got lucky that the guy wasn't willing to hold them for anyone. He said a couple people who lived far away called for a hold.

Now hoping that TRU has Ignitor and Dragon's Peak this weekend.

I'm in the same boat as you now Zing... just need Ignitor and Sunburn and I am finally caught up (aside from the rares). My daughter will be excited as this means she gets a Cynder all to herself (as when my wife got it, she basically had it to level 10 with all challenges done the same day... gotta love being at home all day...).

My wife called a bunch of places and almost everywhere is saying they are expecting shipments of new stock on the 30th.

I am particularly anxious for Sunburn so I can start my solo play-through of the campaign. I have played through the game three times now, twice with daughter and once with girlfriend. I want to play through it on my own, limiting myself to a single Skylander of each type. I have already selected my eight characters and will reset them before playing. I find that the game is extremely easy when every character is level 5+, so I want to experience it from scratch. Sunburn is going to be the fire character, but otherwise, I have all the others I need.

My boys are loving Zook & Lightning Rod. Now just to get Dragon's Peak... I heard that EB Games you can preorder the Giants. What to do? Since January when I bought the game I feel my life has been consumed with the "hunt" for characters. I would like some "time off" from this! lol

Now we just need the 'nitor.

Wife was just at the Toys R Us in Crossiron Mills Mall (Massive mall outside Calgary) and they had a ton of older ones in singles. Nice to see some stock coming back in... hopefully that will bring prices down on ebay and such for people that aren't as close to the malls.

Also, if anyone every needs something I post about and can't find it where they are, I have no issues picking them up if you want to pay the shipping for them.

This does nothing for me. (I could use a Hex, but meh. I sold my 1st one. I don't really want a replacement.)
No silvers or golds either.

Today, around 4:30pm. They didn't have Dragon's Peak in. I haven't been able to find it anywhere in town. Here's a pic from Future Shop. Same thing. Plenty of older stuff, but no Wave 4.

no they had them there last wensday , and the week before . nothing pissed me off more then walking to the register and have it beep like hell saying cant sell befor 31st and then them take them out of my hand and off the self.

Unfortunately mid January the shelves were bare and has been until now. Really hoping to see better stock now though, I heard they had changed the company they were using to build the characters, so maybe that is the reason behind the delay (ensuring the quality of the product before releasing to the public again).

Either way, I am just Missing Ignitor and Sunburn and I'll be all caught up until wave 5... never though I would see the day!

I remember seeing an article that did indicate that Activision is using a new manufacturer to produce the figures. The way to check this is to match a production stamp that you can see at the back of the packaging. I have not checked recently but I know each plant uses a specific stamp on each merchandise to indicate when it was produced and where it came from.

In kelowna and Vernon everyone is fully stocked with every character from waves 1,2 and 3 Eb games got 4 three packs of zook lightning rod and cynder. Lady at toys r us in kelowna stated they where getting dragons peak in but to come early as flyer says limited quantities.
