He is insane, but at least he is aware of his insanity. And if he's aware of it, maybe he's not really insane at all. It's calculated insanity.

I do like the shelf, GM. Although I was expecting something HUGE (like something that would hold all of your unopened figures). This is much better, though.

Thanks. It took the whole wall just to put up what will eventually be the entire Skylanders collection. There are still potentially 2 more waves of variants I would have to try and squeeze in as well. Definately no room for Giant on this wall. I may or may not devote the other wall where this stuff was, to Giants. It depends.

If based on past patterns, each wave seemingly has 3 variant figures. Wave 2 had 3 silvers. Wave 3 had 3 golds. Wave 4 should have 3 of a color, as should wave 5.

LOL OMG you havent ever used a keyless chuck? hold the thing with your hands and then turn the drill on in the proper direction. It loosens the chuck. Then swap out bits, hold the chuck, start the drill in the opposite direction and it will tighten it. LOL

edit : and I dont have to rebut, others have done that for me.

Aparently I have a gimp power drill, Monsi. It is keyless as everyone says, but it's so tight to turn, I had to a pair of pliers to hold it, then turn the thing on, then press the trigger for it to spin while giving resistance.

It was a pain in the butt.

LOL i know my brother broke his wrist that way. The drill locked and it twisted his wrist all the way around it has quite a bit of torque when it tigtens like that.

I love the cube levels Very COOL. This is just a suggestion but how come you don't put the adventure pack levels on the top? Again just asking.

Keep up AMAZING JOB Gamemaster i love to see your updates on the SKYALNDER DEN.WIll have any place to sit downn after you get all of them LOL.

Thanks for the compliment. I had originally thought about putting them on top. However, I wanted everything enlclosed, so it would feel like each Skylander, level toy and magical item had their own "room."

I had originally planned on putting the adventure pack cards with the Skylander cards, but thought it would look cool to kind of advertise each adventure pack item, so I threw the card behind said adventure pack item.

I am going to go get another small bracket after work, so I can level the left side that holds adventure pack items.

I will probably end up re-arranging some of the stuff again, because I have more exclusives/variants coming I'm sure. Then there are the books coming in August.

You should make a little ridge in the back of each shelf, so that you can display the cards behind each figure without worrying about them falling. Similar to how people display plates on shelves. You will need a router to do it properly, but I think that's the look you are going for. And personally, I would lose the stickers if you put the cards behind the figures. Not necessary, and I think it detracts from the shelf.

I wanted the cards to be displayed together, out in the open. As for the stickers, I wanted a way to categorize the characters, while having their names listed for anyone wanting to learn more about Skylanders. I have tons of closed-minded friends, who think they can't play games geared toward kids. They have to stick to their AAA, gritty, titles. I always wanted an excuse to use the name stickers outside of the carrying cases I use them on.

I thought about doing something else to the shelf. I have tons of used stickers that still have the Skylander sticker logo. I thought about putting one underneath all characters, so their bottoms wouldn't rub against the rough - painted - board.

Put down some of that rubber shelf and drawer liner material on it. That will solve the rubbing problem. Comes in many colors, so you could get white and it wouldn't stand out at all. I use it for my tool chest so my tools don't bang around when I open the drawers. Works like a charm.

Yep. All three should have it. I would just go to Wal-Mart. You can get a roll of it (which is very easy to cut to size) for less than $10. Here is what it looks like.

Made a couple of alterations to the Skylanders wall.

Here is what all I did.

In the below pic, I removed the placeholder L-3-Packs that were hanging where Dragon's Peak and Triple Pack 7 and 8 should be hanging. I put the golds and silvers below the Legendary Skylanders -



In the below pic, I fixed the crooked left side that holds Empire of Ice and Pirate Seas. I put Cynder over here, which will be joined by Blue Bash once I get it. I added the game cases from each version of the game, as well as put my tower back up for display, but closed this time. I added a shelf below, which for now displays the 3DS and 360 packaging. These will be replaced by the strategy guide, novels and sticker book that will be coming out -



In the below pic, I took a closer pic of the right side of my wall. You can see - again - the empty slots for Ignitor, Wham Shell, Zook, Camo, Warnado and Lightning Rod single packs -

Those gold and silvers are within my 2 year olds reach. All she would have to do, is go up to them and tear them off the wall. So, I decided to arrange things again. I actually like what I did this time. It actually streamlines every sealed Skylander together. I won't show anyone unless they want to see. Otherwise, you will see the difference (don't know why I didn't think of this before) when I get wave 4 on my wall.

Oh, yeah. Quite a few, actually. I am taking all Skylanders down path A through Heroics. Once done, I will work on path B Skylanders.

I don't have Cynder, so I've only got 25 Heroics to do, but all of my figures have all 25 challenges complete. Takes some time, but you can crank through them pretty quickly once you get the hang of it.

Especially on 360/PS3/PC, where Heroics are far easier than on Wii.

Cynder after Heroics becomes even more beastly.

Actually Drobot's is easier to do on Wii but yeah.

Oh, I found it in one of my Skylanders game cases. It seems I kept my preorder card from Toys R Us. Glad I did. You can't find those anymore. I consider it a Skylanders item, so I decided to hang it on my wall.

EDIT: I will give you guys a tip. My pics are taken with a 12 megapixel camera. If you right click and save as, any of my pics, you can zoom in, and 99% of the time, it's as clear zoomed in, as it is zoomed out.

Drobot's challenge is the one with the "Rare Chompies".

See, that's one thing I plan on doing with my Skylanders website. It will cover the differences in the first game. Of course, that's just one of many things my site has in store.

Not updating my main post photos until I get the new triple pack and a single pack Ignitor.

However, I will show you some of the changes I've made to some of my Skylanders shrine.

First up, my custom built shelf I recently made. I decided to get another piece of wood, paint it white, and fill in the back of the main 32 Skylander section. The Dark Spyro/Legendary section has cards behind each character now, where it didn't before.

Thanks, Zook. I've seen some awesome setups when it comes to Skylander collections. I like seeing what everyone is doing with their collection, and I'm glad people like seeing mine.

Doesn't look bad at all, Dragon_fang. Actually, I like it a lot. Had I chose not to build a shelf or anything, I would have put them in a form of stadium standing positioning. I really like how you did yours. I see you got some dragons on the shelf below. You must love dragons, right?

If you mean build the shelves, Zook, it costed me about 30 bucks. That covered the cost of paint, nails, boards, board cutting, etc.

Oh, boy. I will only say probably over 2 grand.

Dragon, since you love dragons, you should alter your Skylander collection, where the 8 dragons (11 if you include Dark and Legendary Spyro and Legendary Bash) are on the front row, while the remaining Skylanders stand behind them.

I know it messes up the whole, 4 characters per element standing together, but if my love for dragons was that strong, I would have them at the front, so to display with the other dragons in my room.

Good job on your stadium-standing Skylander shelf.

LOL thats too funny cause i normally DO have the dragons in front. I just changed it for the pic n then moved em back.

Nice setup GameMaster! I'm putting some shelving up to for my Skylanders. Unfortunately, I have very little amount of space in my room so my display will be nothing compared to yours.

Thanks. Most I would pay for a pearl Hex, is 300. Anything more and I'll just laugh. Sure, it is probably super rare, but it's never gaurenteed to be worth anything but spit later on, along with any other Skylander.

I say that in regards to anyone who may be buying them hoping it will be the next Family Fun Fitness Stadium Events.

Heck, paying 300 is being way to generous.

I used to think my Steel Batallion on Xbox would be worth something, seeing as they only made a limited number. The joke was on me.

So if I ever find one for 300, I'd be doing someone a favor, because after awhile, it won't even be worth that, just like my golds, silvers, and NY Toy Fair Cynder. Only reason it's worth something now, is because Skylanders is in the trend as of now. Once it loses its popularity, people might pay 50 bucks at most for something like a Toy Fair exclusive (Cynder or Hex).

I really like the setup for your collection GM. It's very organized and has a nice clean look to it.
