PS, I too will be pissed if this event is for LTH or a gold LTH, etc.... I would not mind seeing singles if its ALL of them... since I am still on the hunt for many... (esp sonic boom and voodood)... but if its just LTH and all the regulars I have been seeing (flameslinger, hex, drobot, boomer, drill sarge, and double trouble) I will be pissed. My TRU has had those mentioned above for weeks now in regular stock... if they just saved two or three truckloads of those to place out at once so it "appears" they have alot.... I will be pissed...

Of course hoping for the new ones... we will see...

Much like their recent "sales", that included the adventure packs and triples. Or should I say, lack there of...

The woman I spoke with was definitely a fan. She knew the characters and talked a lot about the game. Even going into how cool Giants could be...if Activision actually makes the characters in advance and doesn't wait until 2013.

Opal, I'm with you on Cynder. Having followed this site for while, and knowing that she's gonna be in a triple pack, I've been holding out on buying. Even coming across her several times in the store. $20 for 3 is cheaper than $30 for 3. I've been lucky in being able to find all the current characters/adventure packs and not paying over retail for any of them. My kids know we're not buying multiple so each can have one. They pick 3 or 4 that are "theirs", same for Dad, and the rest anyone can play. Working out well so far!

^ That's good to hear. I only had to pay over retail for my Empire of Ice and Whirlwind, Double Trouble, and Drill Sergeant three pack. I wish you good luck on your Skylanders hunting. =)

I refuse to pay over retail. I did pay $5 to have Legendary Trigger Happy shipped, though. And I have only paid TRU prices ($10 and $25) on the legendaries. Everything else was all $20 triple packs.

Only paid above retail for 1, but I am clearly under 5 dollars per figure purchased so far...so I'm content, but I still need a few. Hoping to finish out my regulars collection on the 21st or shortly after.

See, retail is a bit of a nebulous term for me.

Here in Oz, a single costs in the order of $16 RRP and a triple twice that.

So I can (and have) paid more than US retail and shipping and still come out ahead or equal.

Don't we have a forum member who works at a TRU? Couldn't he give us some info about this 'event'??

I spoke to a TRU drone today and asked about the event on the 21st and if he knew what they were getting and he said that he did not know. He did say that he and his fellow drones had been trying to look up in the computer what they were going to be getting and all they could find so far was a "Skylanders fixture" which definitely adds credence to the report above that TRU's are going to be getting some sort of new Skylanders display to install.

Man I wish the 21st was on Thursday instead of Wednesday - I am off on Thursday... :-|

Having a so called "advertised event" on the 21st with just the release of 2 figures sounds a little stupid. I hope they have (1) a lot of the 2 new figures in stock and (2) a lot of other older figures in stock or I would consider this an epic fail.

What!?!?!? Ok well that sucks. I was going to have my grandma go get those skylanders but now that DP is not there. . Anyways at least Lightning Rod and Zook will be there. Well now we have to wait for the rest now. Yay more Skylander hunting......... Not. I'm tired of looking around for them and not finding me a single one!

I will show up on the 21st, but i'm not buying single packs unless they have all three of Lightning Rod, Cynder and Zook. Even if they do, I'll be pissed if there are no triple packs.

My cousin told me something interesting today. She said she was told by her boss that after this event (or possibly for it?) that they'd be issuing tickets for people, and you're only allowed one Skylander per customer and that they will be "ticketed items". This is NE Ohio TRU so I suppose it could be different for locations, but I believe someone else mentioned being told they'd get tickets as well.

That's interesting that they won't have DP out. For a 30 day release, it looks like they're not even getting it for March...
Although, to me that seems like they're holding them back to have a lot for release.

*Also, cousin said they had lots of figures in, but could sell some of what was in stock, as long as they had at least 12 to hold back until they got more in for the event. So don't rule TRU out of your shopping until then.*

That would be bad, though. When two to three come out, people want at least one of all three. Telling people "you can't have one of all three," would be bad business on TRU's behalf, and people would be giving them lots of negative surveys, which hurt their stores.

I certainly will be, if told I can't at least have 1 of every new figure.

What if you and your fiance go in at different times to get atleast 1 zook and lightning rod

Okay...lets think about this guys. They will give out tickets. After the tickets are given out...there will still be stock. At that point, you just go back in and get what you want. The point is everyone gets at least 1 item, and then people can get whatever else that they want. I expect to see maybe 20 people there for probably over 150 items. You will get them all...don't fret. This isn't Black Friday.

*shakes head* the fact that the Adventure packs are resurfacing now is a sign of demand starting to be met. Don't sweat it guys. We will all be happy after the 21st...well...maybe not GM, if he doesn't get 5 of each...lol.

The signs atvmy Toys R Us says limit 2 per customer. Meaning you can only buy 2 of the SAME skylander. Not just 2 total. So scalpers or GM doesnt go in and buy all 5. I couldnt imagine paying a credit card bill with 5 of every skylander out plus golds and silvers and metallics and the starter packs. Im to lazy to do the math but Im guessing it has to be thousands. Including the interest.

I called again today and was told they did receive a new display for the Skylanders. I was also told at my TRU, they most likely will not be doing tickets, BUT the new figures will be limited to one each per customer.

I dunno, there just seems to be so much inconsistency between stores and stories. I truly hope Wednesday is not a huge let down for all of us. Fingers crossed.

Altoona, PA told me specifically 1 Skylander per customer, doesn't mater which character. ONE only. This is why I'm taking a team with me.

Actually kids stay in school and dont become the next GM. Be yourself or something greater. Never try to be someone else. Even GM himself would say that. It doesnt matter if you have 500 skylanders or one your collection is cool. No matter how much anyone tries to have the most or the best there is always someone out there with something better and nore. Not everyone collecting skylanders is on this forum. This is only a fraction of how many collectors are out there.

Kesrael, So all the Toys R Us stores are doing 1 Skylander per Person. I'm having my grandma go and the ones I'm missing it will take her four times to go inside and buy everyone.

All TRU are different. Call your own store to find out. Nobody here can answer for each city. I can not go on wednesday so I will have to buy my figures off ebay for hundreds of dollars yet again bc scalpers dont want to get real jobs. Unless my store gets a thousand of each figure I dont stand a chance of getting any of them. This is why I no longer give away my extra figures to people for free bc I need every dollar to win the bids Im going to have to place on ebay. I emailed toys for bob and activision today expressing my frustration with how devoted fans that buy their products feel like they are getting screwed bc they wont release enoigh figures for everyone. Im tired of supporting a company that could care less if their customers are happy.

That's what they told me they're doing. I have no idea what others are doing. You could call and ask the one local to you? You might have better luck.
