Seriously, take a damn chill pill next time. I'm sure that you'll come back with some theory about how she could still have gotten them from someone at retail, but at this point there's no evidence of that. And honestly, she's under no obligation to tell us where she got them in the first place.

I am so glad I am not the only one that feels this way. Gamemaster, you have NO proof at all that she has done anything wrong. All you have proof of is that she has the toys, and took her photos down when you started to question her. Taking down pictures does not mean she has done anything wrong, and some people in this thread have tried to point that out to you, but you will only accept that she is some horrible person who must have stolen these from either a store or distribution center. As mentioned, SHE may not have ties to Activision/TFB/TRU, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know someone who does, and received them as a gift for her son from them. As mentioned by Double Trouble, maybe she may have also received them as a gift for providing baked goods to Activision/TFB/TRU, which wouldn't surprise me if she has past ties with large companies like Disney. It's one thing to call TRU and asks them in private until you have evidence of guilt, but what you are doing is borderline harassment and libel. Innocent until proven guilty are more than just words, and it's shame you'd rather it go the other way around. She has no obligation to prove anything to any of us, and if she chooses not to that doesn't mean she is automatically guilty. You've alerted TRU, so let them handle it.

That's the common sense way to think about it. She got scared over a simple question.

Because maybe she didn't know that she shouldn't have received the figure yet, and is now scared that she may get in trouble for something she never intended to do in the first place. Heck the Skylander Twitter, Facebook and news announcements have been saying the new figures ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AT RETAIL for at least a week now, so maybe she didn't realize that she should not have got it yet.

Do I have proof that she has gotten any nasty messages? **No, but I sure am going to message her and alert her to this topic so that if she has she'll know why she's getting them. **It doesn't matter if she has or not, the fact is that she took her post down for a reason, which no one has any idea of what reason that is. **Maybe she did get it through shady means, or maybe she really **didn't realize that she was the first person to get Sunburn and that posting the picture would cause so many questions about how she got them. **The woman could have just been trying to share her creation, but you've turned this into a capital case for no reason. **And you had no reason for posting her info after she had taken her post down, and now any harassment that she does get is now on your shoulders, whether it's one message or 100.

Frankly GM I think you might have over reacted here. The fact is we don't know the nature of her acquisition on the Sunburn figure. It doesn't really matter how she got it but clearly she does. If she was scalping/stealing why would she open it and put it on a cake and then take a pic. She probably pulled her info. thinking she might have done something wrong by posting a pic of an unreleased figure. I get the principal of what you were trying to do but I think it might have been misplaced here.

GM, as good-willed as your intentions started, you are beginning to slip down a slope quickly. You have likely already crossed the "legal" line for laws specifically designed to prevent non-public figures from being put in to situations from accusations such as yours.

Your "witch hunt" blinders are keeping you from a lot of other "How's" that are likely options. I have seen SO many things like this happen in my career (which includes 10 years as a director in the merchant buying group of a very large retailer) on a wide variety of "hot items" that it isn't even funny. I had a computer teacher many years ago that had a friend who was like a brother to him that worked with the developers at Bungie. His friend would send him free products(books, games, figures, etc) from them, or other developers they worked with(Including Activision), quite frequently, sometimes before their official street dates. He technically wasn't supposed to be telling us, because if anything got leaked that wasn't supposed to be, then his friend's job could potentially be on the line, but excitement gets the best of us sometimes. I agree, designers/executive/coordinators/etc. often send out products to family and friends early, but with non-disclosure agreements. It's definitely possible that this woman is in such a position where a generous friend or family member with connections sent them a set early for the child's birthday, and either didn't tell them to keep it quite until they were released, or they did tell them to, and this woman got confused by all the media reports that are saying wave 4 is out in stores now. It would explain why the images were taken down.

Gamemaster, answer your own questions and think logically. She can't get them on the retail level, which is actually the easiest level this woman could have gotten them by ill methods. As mentioned, the only next option would be a distribution center, but there is ZERO evidence she works at one. That is just one of your assumptions. All evidence suggests she is a baker, but you seemed pretty quick to want to dismiss that. Is it because it blows holes in your theory that she stole them? Yes, that still leaves the possibility she got them from someone that stole them from a distribution center, but isn't this all getting a bit elaborate? Not to mention, if someone did take them from a distribution center, then you still have no right to so viciously claim this woman is at fault. How do you know she even knew? After all, she didn't even know they weren't released yet, which I imagine a TRU employee would know. Maybe when you pointed out that these figures weren't released, she realized that whoever gave her/her child the figures, may have stolen them. I don't know about you, but if I suddenly suspected someone I knew of theft, then I'm not going to broadcast it over Facebook. It's a private matter, and that's how I'd handle it. You know, before essentially doing what you have done in this thread.

Heck, for all we know, she saw an add pop up on Craigslist, and went and bought them from someone who stole them. If she didn't know they weren't out, then maybe she got scared of getting in trouble for buying stolen toys. If she did buy them knowing they weren't out, then it's also reasonable that she would suddenly be afraid of getting in trouble for buying unreleased toys. In both situations I wouldn't consider the woman at fault, and definitely not deserving of your libelous claims. If we all took a moment, then I'm sure we could come up with DOZENS of scenarios for how she got these toys, but the only TRUTH is that we have no evidence to point us towards which one happened.

I think we can all agree that your intentions were good. We're all sick of the scalping, but you ended up handling this very immaturely. The appropriate and mature thing would have been to keep her name and location between yourself and whoever you phoned at TRU corporate, so they could check their records and handle it how they see fit. You intentionally made her information public on this forum, because you wanted to drum up drama, and get people going after her, because you want to believe she is corrupt. You have NO proof. It doesn't matter what your TRU buddy THINKS, or what the person on the phone THINKS. You may also THINK she hasn't received any harassing messages as a result of your actions, but once again, you have no proof. Assumptions are not proof. This has to do with potential theft and shady actions by someone, be it this woman who got extremely scared over a simple question, or someone from inside TRU who helped her (if it wasn't her herself) that helped her get something that isn't even in the inventory of the ONLY store carrying it for the first 30 days after release.

What happens in 3 different TRU stores, surely happens in other places. Nothing is coincidental. But bite and claw however everyone here sees fit.

I'm not jealous of those who got it early by legit means (ie news outlet reviewers like Pennyman), despite the fact everyone but Pennyman didn't even do what they were supposed to with them. Pennyman is the one who truly deserved to get them early, because he did what Activision would have wanted him to do with them.

However, I'm still not mad about Gameinformer and Geekdad getting them, just to take pics, while offering no review what-so-ever, like Activision intended for them to do by sending it to them early. I am trying to get Activision to send me the newest characters from here on out, for a website I am making, which is devoted to nothing but Skylanders.

Bottom line, at least Geekdad, Gameinformer and Pennyman got Dragon's Peak by a means that can't be deemed shady. When asked how he got Dragon's Peak, Lightning Rod and Zook early, Pennyman answered. He wasn't scared. He didn't need to be scared to answer such a question. However, a lady was asked the same - simple - question, and she ran for the hills, despite the fact people post pics of getting Skylanders early, all the time, on their Facebook page.

The salty ones will keep at this, though. At least some are tracking like a VCR. Some of which, work for TRU themselves.
