Today I picked up a dino-rang at toys r us. Especially for one reason... its in a boomer box. has anyone seen this? I've tried to search it online and I haven't found anything.

Can i see a pic?

I think I've seen someone else who spotted the same thing before. Not sure though, I'll go see if I can find the topic it was in.

i can beat that. At my target a few months ago i saw a 3ds starter pack where instead of dark spyro, stealth elf, and ignitor the starter had normal spyro, boomer, and hex o.O but it was still labeled as wat was supposed to be in the starter. how do you add pics? i'll put the pic i took up lol it looks like they were just mashed in there

not sure which code to use off of photobucket..

I would pretty much guarantee that was someone who took the figures out of the box and returned it to the store. The person in customer service didn't catch it because they would have to be pretty familiar with the figures in order to do so.

hmm good point, didnt think of that lol i should have checked to make sure it wasnt opened. i just assumed it wasnt because it was spider wrapped and put with all the other ones and didnt look damaged. I'll go look at my pics of it to see if i can spot anything

well.. the package looks like all the rest of them that I picked up in the last month... so if someone did replace them to mix em up like that.. then they did one heck of a job

I was talking about the 3DS pack getting switched out. The Dino-Rang in a Boomer box is probably just a production error. Cool find. Not sure I would buy it, but it sure is different.

Some stores have an insidious practice of re-shrinkwrapping returned items to make them appear brand new.

And it just makes it look worse, IMO. Like it was Saran-Wrapped.

No, it's highly possible for this to happen. In fact, it does quite a lot in other lines. The cards gets sorted wrong or some other variable.

Famously, there's a lot of Pez dispensers that are like that. The dispenser will be placed into a package from the wrong line. Like this one.

Pretty cool find, OP. I'd love to have one of those over a Gold/Silver any day.

I actually remember seeing a Whirlwind in a Zap package on eBay. The seller wanted $80 for it, lol.

Oh yeah! I saw that too! But it only had the nameplate of Zap, not the entire package.

^Yeah! Certainly wasn't worth $80, but whatever. The Dino-Rang in the Boomer package would be worth more. I certainly wouldn't buy anything like it though.

^ I actually have one like that that I got off ebay but for $60 (didn't have Whirlwind at the time and thought it was pretty cool). Still sealed and is part of my Exclusive Collection. This was the one that has the Zap nameplate. I think there was also a Zap in a Whirlwind Target exclusive package too. They must have been made in the same factory at the same time.

Cool find though! You would think that someone would catch it, but I guess with all this mass production, errors are bound to happen.
