I see there are lots of the wave 1-2 being reported in stores , But are they still Makeing them ? or is this the last of the catch up stock they made ?. Do you think when Giants comes out you will be able to find wave 1-2 on the shelfs ? I am sure there are people that have not caught on to this game yet but they might catch on when Giants is released and if so they might want to collect them all just like we are .
My son brings over freinds that have only seen the game in stores and they go nuts to play it when they come over , so they dont have the game yet , but I bet they will soon.

Will people be able to find sealed wave 1-2-3 etc........ in 8 months time?

only Toys for Bob and retailers have that answer.

I hope they're still making wave 1 figures, I'm missing stump smash, prism break, Voodood, and pirate seas. I wouldn't want to spend a ton of money online for them so I really really hope I can find them in stores again eventually.

I see some wave 1-2 figures, but then there are a few that seem really hard to find. I've seen nearly all figures in stock in the stores I check, but I've never seen Sonic Boom or Voodood pop up. They rarely seem to pop up online as well. Prism Break also seems hard to come by, but I did get lucky and find 1 in my area, which I bought.

EDIT: Oh, and I do believe they are still making them, and will get them back in stock for giants. I believe they are also making some remodeled versions of the current skylanders? I know there is a remodeled Cynder image floating around.

I imagine they will keep making all the waves until at least when Giants come out with the remodeled versions (I have been told they are making remodels of all of the original Skylanders but I don't know how reliable my source is...)

Besides, in some countries of the world wave 1 and 2 are the only ones that are out and they keep coming in to my local TRU (in the UK) so unless they have a huge stockpile of them, and logic dictates that they can't have based on the way we're being drip-fed them and the 'worldwide shortage', then they must still be making them.

I think Hexin_Wishes is probably right. For now I think they are focusing on selling Wave 3 and manufacturing Wave 4. About all I have seen the last couple of weeks at our local Walmart and Target have been Flameslinger, Chop Chop, Cynder, Double Trouble, Drill Sargeant, and Whirlwind.

That is the hope but what if they dedicate that factory capacity to pre-make Giants figs in preparation?

I think this might happen i mean if your making so many reposes you wanna make sure you sell them. I dont see any where near as many people buying them as they did the initail run. Since from what Ive read they are the same figs just a dif variant.

They really need to keep making them until the next game comes out and possibly after because one of the main goals of the game is to collect them all, and you can't do that if they stop producing them.

They won't start pushing out the remodeled figures until Giants comes out though.

They recently confirmed that they won't stop making all the Skylanders.

Well we know that Giants will have re-sculpted figures. So while the physical figure might be discontinued, there will still be some way to get the character.

This is evident to me at least by the recent change on Skylander's Facebook note:
"Q: What about previously released characters?

A: Many previously released characters are being re-stocked each week. However, we can't guarantee all characters will be available in future release waves."

I got all wave 1 for Christmas so I don't really know.

Here is the long answer to your question initial release had all stores getting 12 singles shipped in two boxes each with six figures in it. These were
case 1.0: (Stealth Elf, Zap, Boomer, Eruptor, Chop Chop and Flameslinger), and case 1.5: (Prism Break, Voodude, Sonic Boom, Drobot, Stump Smash and Bash). There were also three 3 packs of characters released at this time: Drobot/Stump Smash/Flameslinger, Chop Chop/Eruptor/Bash, and Voodude/Prism Break/Boomer. In addition there was one adventure pack released to all stores: Pirate Seas. Store exclusives for the initial release was a six per box distribution of Drill Sergent to Wal-Mart/Sams Club and Whirlwind to Target as well as an exclusive triple pack of legendaries to TRU: Spyro/Bash/Chop Chop and TRU got an exclusive 30 day distribution on Darklight Crypt adventure Pack.

Sometime in December this changed. Case 1.0 ceased to be distributed to all stores. Case 1.5 was still distributed at this point in time. In addition we bagan seeing wave 2 boxes of singles: (Zap. Eruptor, Boomer, Dino Rang, Hex and Wrecking Ball). There were now three 3 packs distributed at this time as well including the previously seen Chop Chop/Eruptor/Bash and the new Zap/Hex/Dino Rand and Wrecking Ball/Stealth Elf/Sonic Boom. For Adventure Packs we now had both Pirate Seas and Darklight Crypt distributed to all stores. At this point store exclusives Drill Sergent, Whirlwind and Legendary 3 pack were still available but in a shrinking supply.

After Christmas in January, we encounterd a shortage of figures in all forms to all stores that we would experience for almost three whole months. Cases 1.5 and 2.0 were still produced and distributed to all stores. Wave 3.0 began to show itself during this shortage it contained: Flameslinger, Chop Chop, Whirlwind, Drill Sergent, Cynder and Double Trouble. The wave three release marked the end of Target and Wal-Mart's exclusive figure deals although these figures had slightly differnt colored bases than store excusive versions. The 3 pack front brought us previously seen Flame Slinger/Stump Smash/Drobot, Wrecking Ball/Stealth Elf/Sonic Boom and brand new Whirlwind/Drill Sergent/Double Trouble. The previously seen adventure packs were still seen in very limited amounts Pirate Seas, Darklight Crypt were now joind by Empire of Ice. The TRU 3 pack of Legendaries was also distributed during this wave.

In March we saw wave 4. The singe pack distribution is still confusing me. Cases 1.5 and 2.0 are no longer produced and distributed but case 3.0 is. Wave 4 consists of two cases of six figures I have yet to determine an actual distribution of these figures but they seem to include a mixture of: Zook, Lightning Rod, Ignitor, Stealth Elf, Bash, Sonic Boom, Hex, Wrecking Ball, Eruptor, Stump Smash, Drobot, (It appears that one of these eleven is found in both cases of wave 4 most likely Bash or Stealth Elf). The 3 packs for this wave include Prism Break/Boomer/Voodude, Zap/Hex/Dino Rang and the new Lightning Rod/Zook/Cynder. All four adventure packs have been distributed as part of this wave including Pirate Seas, Darklight Crypt, Empire of Ice and Dragon Peak (TRU has 30 day exclusive on Dragon Peak). There has been no sign of 3 pack legendary distribution during this wave but TRU has received six pack cases of Legendary Trigger Happy exclusive single packs. In addition TRU has also seen six to a case single packs of Blue Bash single packs.

Wave 4 is notable because it includes every single released figure in either the single or triple pack distribution. It also seems that skylanders are being distributed in larger quantities during this wave than wave 3.

If anyone knows more about the distribution of the single packs for wave 4 please let me know.

Edit: The short answer is that the company has a strong history of making figures scarce and then reflooding the market with them. I would expect all figures to be available if you wait long enough. However I think once Giants gets here and they do the resculpts with the orange bases the original figures in all forms will not be released again. Expect the last of the green based figures to be made and leave the warehouse in September (rough guess).

They do, I just picked a Darklight Crypt at my TRU. They also had Pirate Seas. (TX)
