I'm seriously considering the purchase of one of these articulated characters. How is the build on the Drill Sergeant? Is the fit and finish professionally done? How was it packaged and did the original box and content come with it?
Thanks for your time and enjoy.

Is that with the 20 dollars shipping he charges or do you live in the states

If you dident know it's 20 bucks to ship it to canada which is where i live

#15 Posted: 18:08:18 18/12/2011
I live in the states.

it was packaged safely, in a fashion that it would not move around during shipping, it seems to be professionally done, however, the connection between his right arm, and the rest of his body does seem to be just a tad loose when compared to the left arm.
as far as the paint job, he actually looks better than the official figure.

I did use him for my game, and while he's said to not have been played, I found he WAS registered to another game. (probably to make sure the sucker worked, and it's easy enough to fix, so whatever.)

overall, excellent craftsmanship, highly recommend buying one from him.
oh, and yes. the packaging came with Drill Sergeant. the card, the sticker, and the web code.

That's called shipping costs, and they sometimes add those to products you get in stores.

And if you shop around, quite often you will find places with no or negligible shipping (like $2 for 5 tower cases - not $2 for each, but all up).

Generally speaking, those custom figures can go anywhere between $30, and $100.
it all depends on how much people want that particular figure. articulated, or not. I think Hex went for only $25. either that, or prism break

You got Drill Sarge! If the arm is a little loose try putting a dab of Future Floor Wax in there and letting it dry. It's clear and that's what most action figure collectors use to tighten joints on their figures. I'm glad you like him, he was the first Drill Sarge I made. The other Drill Sarge is sitting on Paul Richie's desk. Yep, the head guy from Toys for Bob. He's asked me to do a Chop Chop for him too and I just got in my ball joint sets from overseas.

Speaking of ball joints you all can articulate your Skylanders figures. I don't have a guide specific to them yet but it's basically a combination of techniques shown in my Guides and Tutorials on my site. I use a combination of ball joints from Hobby Base/Yellow Sub brand which you can only get overseas through Hobby Link Japan, Mega Blocks mini Marvel figures (the lower body for Voodood and Flameslinger), Star Wars (upper body for Stealth Elf) and other toys that have existing joints. For basic cut-joints that swivel I use the screw or magnetic joint technique that I also list in my guides. All the painting steps are done afterwards and combined with everything else you end up with a really unique figure!

Hmmm, well Chop Chop is the most complex one. Due to his skeletal nature I have to use 4 sets of double-ball-joints as they're the only thing I could find small enough that looked like bones. So that's like 12 arm/leg parts plus a ball joint for his neck and one for his waist. That's a lotta parts! Then Prism break because it takes a lot of actual resculpting because of the odd angles his shoulders were molded in. You can't just swap parts because no tiny figure looks like rock out there. You have to use Aves Apoxie Sculpt and sculpt the rock design on the joints you use.

unfortunately he doesn't take commissioned orders. when zap does appear you will have to fight it out with other bidders on ebay.
