I was thinking how great it would be to have a gold Drill Sergeant and use it in game when a thought crossed my mind. You know how gold Skylanders start at level 5 and are pre-loaded with a certain amount of money? Well if you were to reset a gold Skylander, would they go back to level 1 with no money, or back to level 5 with the same amount of money as they started with? Has anyone ever actually opened a gold Skylander to try this?

To be fair, the starting bid for the auction was a penny, so it's the people bidding who have been raising that price up. And if he's going to be shipping something that collectors will value highly, and will be furious if there's any damage during delivery, he'll want to package it securely, which can be costly.

6 x 8 (say 10 for grins and giggles) = 60

750 - 60 = 690

No, I'm saying it will cost the price of the shipping charge. Why should he use the money from the thing he sold to pay for the shipping? If you were to sell something regardless of price, would you want to use the money you got from the sale to pay for the shipping? I think that's kind of expecting a lot.

If I am going to profit more than $200 there is no way I am going to charge shipping.

Well that's good for you then I guess, but a lot of people use ebay to make money, and aren't in it to perform any charity work. In my eyes, it's unreasonable to expect what you're asking.

Oh, and gold Chop Chop and Drill Sergeant?! I didn't know those existed. My guess is somebody did something like get them out of the box, paint them, and put them back in. If they are genuine, sorry, people.

I still don't see anything evil about this auction. He started the bidding at one penny, so it's not like he was starting the bids at an overpriced amount, and I'm sorry, but expecting free shipment just because the person selling the item is making a huge profit is ridiculous.

have you heard about Shill bidding??.. you know evilbay have people working for them, to put in bid so things get over priced, its a fact. if that ain't evil then i dunno...

I don't know if anyone has had the guts to reset one. But if they were smart enough to preset the figures with level 5 and a certain amount of gold on it, then they SHOULD be smart enough to have a reset put it back to those same levels. Somebody is going to have to be the guinnea pig on this one (or contact someone who knows in Activision).

If I had a gold Drill Sergeant I'd try it myself because I'd gladly open that up and use it.

Seems like a really strange thing to do for a figure, anyway. It's not like it's difficult to get to level 5.

but if reset and its not on lvl 5 and have 2100 coins, it only take you a few hours to get to lvl5 and get the coins... so no biggie really....

A few hours? You could do it in under 30 minutes.

maybe but noot all know where to harvest and do cheats....

Yeah 2100 coins and lvl 5 is barely anything if you actually have beat the game giving you access to Lair of Kaos. I can get that many coins is around 3 runs up to the tri-key lock. Probably make level 5 as well.

It's too bad they don't let you copy a save file, because then you could just get to a point later in the game with valuable treasure chests, copy extra save files, then get the treasures in one save file, erase it, and re-copy the other one. Infinite valuable treasure chests (and legendary treasures) at a rapid rate. : )

A few hours? You could do it in under 30 minutes.

When you got close to 2100 coins, you would want to be careful so as not to step over the mark.

Get around 2000 something and then just break crates around the ruins area until its correct. They are normally 1 or 10 and its easy to tell the difference.

They're randomly inserted into boxes of Skylanders. Generally, they're near impossible to find, either from scalpers, or from employees taking them.

Basically, the first person to see them on the shelves will buy them, if they even make it to the shelves in the first place.
