NPD numbers are in, Skylanders kicked butt in January!

It was #8 in sales!
22% of all accessorizes and extra content for video-games were Skylanders
Made 20 million!

Wow can you imagine if they actually had more stock on the shelves!
Pretty good sales and stats for a winter month!

Why? We want Skylanders doing well because everyone here on this forum [at least, should] like them. If the company is doing well, it means they can produce more figures and accessories, as well as perhaps new games or console releases.

Don't scalpers only make their money when the thing they're scalping is in demand?

With that reason in mind, why would Activision make a crappy Skylanders game? Seeing as that would cause a lot of the fans to not be having fun any more as crappy sequels do, it would kill off a lot of the interest in the brand and reduce demand for its products. Activision would make less money in the long run because people are less interested in spending on their brand, and the scalpers wouldn't bother scalping because there's no demand for them to make money from.

Brand name can only take a product so far. If the product itself is bad it WILL impact sales, regardless if its a household name or not.
