When I first found it today, it was such a nice, clean forum with only two threads. *Sigh*

the plan is that all of the 8 giants will light up in some way, but they will not be articulated

There are at least 4 charater redesigns

But does this effect how the character acts in game?

Because if not, they should allow free trade-ins with the original figures. Or at least a discount if you trade in the original figure.

With the redesigns I am wondering if they will be playable on the first skylanders game Im sure they will right?

Just found this on the release of Giants' Champions:

•8 Giant Skylanders: One out-sized Skylander for each of the different elements. These characters have special abilities in-game, but balanced in such a way that they shouldn’t eclipse the original Skylanders. Each of the Giant Skylanders has elements that light up when placed on the Portal and is about twice the size of the original figures.

•4 Light Skylanders: Four special edition figures that have light up parts when placed on the Portal. Like the Giant Skylanders, this extends the RFID technology to wirelessly power the figures and avoids the need for batteries.

•8 New Skylanders: Eight new normal-sized Skylander figures, one for each of the elements. These extend the elemental families with new figures that complement those already available.

•24 Re-released Skylanders: Although exact details were less forthcoming on this issue, it seems the plan is to release a fresh set of Skylanders figures in different poses and holding different items to the originals.

Aint no way in hell I am going to purchase the 24 "do over. we have a better idea, we think" figures. They dont do a thing in game different than what we already have (if released already). I see myself getting the 8 giants, 8 new characters, and maybe the 4 lighted ones.

Watch, activision will package them in a way that inorder to get what I have listed above, I will have to purchase some of the redesigned ones as well. If that happens, no effin way!

Did I say that I have to? I know that I don't have to, but since I planned on buying each of the Skylanders, I'm a bit disappointed, I wanted to have a good mix between collecting and playing but with this, the collecting part will take over =/

I guess it depends which characters they are, how much they are and if they look great. Otherwise, I'll pass I think.

Wait, now I'm confused: there will be 8 Giants, 8 new normal toys, 4 light toys and...24 redesigns? Well, obviously Im' not going to buy them, unless some are from the Spyro's old games or have a good design (like Cynder).

I guess these will be more attractive for the kids that didn't try the first one. They will be able to choose between 2 designs for a single character.

It's another way to make more money

I have to be honest and say that I'm more than likely going to pick up the giants and the light-ups with the new Champions.

As for the redesigned, well, I'll use discretion over that. If they make "cooler" versions of my favorite Champions, I may pick them up. Otherwise, I'm going to end up passing.
