Face facts now. It's a reboot, it's not Spyro's games anymore, it's the Skylanders games.

I think it's interesting. Usually, Activision's formula is to repeat the same game play over and over again in a number of games. Giants offers the potential for a huge change in game play whilst still retaining the game play we got used to during the first game. From the trailer, we can see that the Elder Elemental's play focused on their strength which could involve switching nearly every few minutes replacing things like bombs from the first game.

But that's my take on it anyway.

From some parts of it the giants are both fighters and tools to advance through a level. Like combat engineers. Like what I see so far. Just wait till Feb 12.

I think using the giants will be useful as well. But probably not as useful as most people think though.

Who knows though. You may have to use them for half the time and maybe not. Depends on each levels objective and the possibility to just use them through the whole campaign.

Anyway, I think Skylanders will last longer than the Los series, but not as long as the Original series.

It is quite likely, it's probably going to be longer than LoS.
Maybe longer than Classics at this rate.

I really like the Skylanders "series". I hope it lasts longer than the Classics, though.

Classics were 4 years, right? And TLOS was 3 years? Well, Spyro 1-4 each took a year to make. Each LOS took a year to make. Skylanders took two and a half years. If Giants isn't the first game just with essential DLC (Kind of like Call of Duty did), that would make 5 years.

So, longer, yeah... but potentially less games.

One question: Will they also release another spyro game in 2013. It would be a good way to celebrate the 15th Anniversary for spyro.

Doubt it. Activision aren't sentimentalists, by the looks of it.

If another Spyro game gets released, I may flip a table and moonwalk.
