I like how the eyes are white, like Kaos's minons. But a skylander that was actually one of his minions might have been more fitting.

Well, that's nice. Just offering here. I called and told my friend to get me one. First place he is going, when Toy Fair opens, is to the Skylanders booth. So, if no one here wants to take me up on that offer, cool. I save myself a Volcanic Vault, and I will just give my friend the 20 bucks for his kindness... or buy him what he's into. *shrugs*

For those who do not know, admission into the NYC Toy Fair requires you to work for someone in the toy industry or in the media. It also requires 2 forms of ID, one demonstrating employment with an approved employer and the other some form of state ID. Admission prices are $75 prior to 12/31/2011 and $125 after with $150 day of show.

I have friends down in NYC as well as only living 2 hours away. I cannot get into the show, so I wont be going.

Well my friend works for a website (media) that deals with a certain toyline. I don't want to give info about him, as it's not my right. All I can say is, the admin for said site is paying his way to the Toy Fair. He leaves here Friday.

There's no shame in setting limits on a collection, it's still a collection.

By the way, do you have the promo singles that were available at E3? I think those would fall into the same "special (press) event exclusive" tier.

I'm not really about collecting some cosmic rares like pearl Hex or metallic Cynder, although it would be nice. It's more the problem of getting even standard figures, take a train to Munich (around 40km for me) to get 1 figure from 6 Game Stop's? I of all people hate scalpers. However 9.99 for the figure and gas at 4$ a gallon + me having to drive 60 miles to find cynder. I just dropped 25 on evil bay and said the hell with it. I just needed one cynder to have a whole opened set and a whole unopened set. I never will collect any variants though. The thrill for me would be finding one on my own. Buying one from ebay is just cheating. I found my first cynder at gamestop so the thrill of finding another one dodnt amuse me at all. I would love to FIND a variant but dropping 200$ on each one? Lol. Ill pickup an ipad 2 instead and enjoy it way more than i would an small figurine I already have just in a different color.

i didnt know about skylanders the first couple weeks it was out, so there are a few things i still dont know about, these e3 single packs are one of those things. what are they? any pics?

These last two figures spell the end of the "complete" collection. It's going to be impossible to keep up with the amount of variants they'll produce for conventions and the like. Even the most ardent and financially liberal collector is going to run out of steam; if not with these two (Hex and Cynder), then with what comes later.

I'd really love that Cynder, but guess most people are SOL on it. Surprised at those E3 exclusives, the packaging style seems totally different.

How could they post these pics of rare skylanders and are not allowed to have the chance to get one or to find them.Look like the evilbay people are gonna profit again. I can almost guarntee that the majority of rare skylanders it's the managers of the stores or people high up in the stores that are selling these rare skylanders they probably found in there store. I only say this because the girl at tru told me this. We got on the subject of silver skylanders and she said my boss told me if found one to notifiy her ASAP.I dident like hearing that

I don't consider stores managers in the people I was talking about, but more like the president of TRU, the game developers, etc. I find it normal that they have some exclusivity. But not cool if they sell them back after...

A young Best Buy worker told me he had a silver one....he got at his store as they put them on the shelf!

I know it's off topic but. Anyone pick up the new resident evil for 3ds? It's so amazing the graphics are the best i've seen on the 3ds so far. Plus picked up the extra circle pad a little bulk but worth it you can move around more freely.

This Cynder variant is pretty cool. I like how it reminds me of Kaos' minions.

On the other hand, there are too many variants. When there are people who can't even get a regular version of a Champion, it seems kinda silly to make variants of that Champion.

I'm not going to say that getting the variants isn't worth it on some level, but I will say that I'm holding to the same thought I had when Silver Boomer was released - If I come across one on accident, then great. I'm not going to be searching for the variants.

gamemaster will be having 4 of those as well in one week.

thats an amazing cynder variant, and the fact that spyro trigger happy and gill grunt were single packs at E3 are freaking cool. Until I buy these IRL im printing out pics of them for my wall so i can at least look at them whenever i want LOL xD i know im lame.

If these do end up on ebay one day, ill be buying it for whatever prices they want.... =3

ive talked to all the toys r us people, and gamestops ive gone to and none of them have ever seen a silver or a gold. and they move a lot of stock, especially the toys r us when they get 30+ cases.

and industry ppl always get the rare awesome stuff. i hate them. BUT I WANT TO BE ONE SO BAD.
