*spit take* WHAT?!

A Spoonful Of Murder...wow. Highly doubt this is in anyway related to Skylanders. They even had this on the Amazon site, so I'm guessing they are just a misuse of the name. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spyro-...=pd_sim_sbs_b_1

The one you linked is a self-published guide. They wouldn't have a publish date/pre-order for a self-published book.

The title "A Spoonful of Murder" doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be violent. I've seen loads of things that are family friendly where the word 'Murder' is mentioned in the title but that doesn't mean it's graphic or violent; just that it happens in some way, shape or form.

How could they judge something we only know the TITLE of. That is literally ALL we know about this thing. We cannot simply judge it on that.

For all we know it could be about crows or something (a group of crows is known as a murder, is it not?)

It is hard to emote context in written form, without writing more than the original idea. In general, if you see a smiley face, especially one winking or with a tongue hanging out, then you can normally infer that it is intended to be humorous.

From looking at what scant info there was on all the links, it looks like that's a self-published upcoming book that most likely has nothing to do with Skylanders whatsoever. They probably smacked that title on for attention or as a mistake, though it's possible this is a non-fiction work about the games industry with a focus on products like Skylanders. Either way, this doesn't look like it has anything to do with what you guys were hoping.

well if you put it that way they probably just slaped it on there because they thought it had something to do with skyrim a new game that came out in late October like skylanders so they must have been mistaken

I did originally think that it was self published, but no self publishing service submits a book to a retailer for pre-orders. They only submit copies to be sold when it's completed and when it's available for purchase.

While it IS true that murder doesn't mean that it's explained in detail, it's still an odd topic/theme/element for a children's book. True, the game DID have a character who was almost killed(Eon), but the big difference is that he wasn't; not to mention that he's still present and partticipating actively in the story. Spoonful of Murder indicates that someone actually WAS killed, an unusual thing for children's literature.

Do you suppose that this is NOT for kids, but instead a more mature book, as in an attempt to keep some of the older fans?

Hey. Be aware. "Spoonful of Murder" is not a Skylander Book. Connie Archer is a family member of mine and this book is just being released online. Something must have gone wrong, because when we look it up, everyone has it listed with Skylander Spiro's Adventure in parentheses after the title. Big fail. Anyway. It a mystery story that takes place in a small town in Vermont - so I think you would all be very disappointed. Pass the word along the forum if you hear anymore chat about it. Thanks.

No, I mean that Amazon and the other retailers must have just got it confused by adding "Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure" to the title. Maybe there was a mix up in some emails or something and once one person picked up on it then some other retailers did too... Or something like that.
Aura24 Platinum Sparx Gems: 6561
#46 Posted: 19:31:00 08/05/2012
Or Amazon made a mistake and added 'A Spoonful of Murder' as part of the Skylanders series on their site.

This is what a almost identical page on Amazon, but without "Skylanders" in its name said:
Winter is big business in small-town Snowflake, Vermont. Tourists arrive to hit the ski slopes--and what could be more satisfying after a chilly day of carving powder than a steaming bowl of soup?

When Lucky Jamieson inherits her parents' soup shop, By the Spoonful, she realizes it's time to take stock of her life. Should she sell her parents' house or move in herself? Does she really want to run a restaurant business? And what about her grandfather Jack, who seems to be showing signs of Alzheimer's?

But her life decisions are moved to the back burner after an icy blonde tourist is found frozen to death behind the soup shop. and Lucky is bowled over when her soup chef, Sage DuBois, is led out of the kitchen by the police. As suspicion and speculations snowball, Lucky decides that the only way to save her employee and her business is to find out herself who iced the tourist--and landed her chef in the soup...
