No one likes anatomy, but that's what makes a picture proportioned and looking nice. I bet if you practiced a little with it the outcome would be a lot better!

And even if you say "oh yeah it's a cartoon it's not real blah blah" Cartoons still have anatomy.

Once you draw the head, that will be the "measurement" for the whole body. Like the body will be 2 heads tall and half a head wide. Like that. That's how they measure in art and animation.

usually you start with the head... because like K-Tech said, It's the measurement of the whole body.

I always start with the head, hair, face, then the neck, shoulders, arms, then abdomen, then legs. I add on from there (wings, ect.).

And if it's not right to me, I erase it several times before I'm fine with it. It takes me at least an hour to finish a simple picture. But if there or more characters or I want to color it or something, then it usually takes longer.

yeah,it also takes me like hours to finish the simplest of things.
i have most trouble getting two eyes to match to my liking,most drawings i dedicate an hour or more to drawing eyes,but its worth it when you finally get it right.

This isn't completely correct, but you get the point. You need to use guidelines to help you determine the position of the facial features.
Using tutorials and references are your best bet to help you improve.

Impressive i must say,though im terrible at anatomy,never have been able to get the lines right...i need practice.

That's why you have to practice. Practice makes perfect, after all!
Although, anatomy isn't as easy as you think it is. I still don't know all of the details of it.

And like I said, the best way really is to look up tutorials and practice drawing , because the only way you'll improve is if you actually do it and try out what the tutorials say.

And drawing without looking at poses or pictures is fine, but while you're still learning references are the best tool to use.

I always do the lines w/ the face, so I know which way the head is facing, and where the features should be.

your advice is wise.good thing ive stocked up on art material with anatomy tutorials,i remember when i was younger and thought of the anatomy as the boring part,and would skip on to draw the whole picture at once,ive just started to realize my mistakes :/
