Because I know someone's going to bring it up, I must say first and foremost that Conker's Bad Furday is a unique circumstance. His original game was aimed for kids and this remake was definitely not. But making a kids' product mature very rarely works and I can't actually think of any other video game series for which it did work (and even for Conker, the game wasn't enough to save his franchise).

Another good example of taking something for kids and making it mature that doesn't work is Epic Mickey. Yes, a lot of people enjoyed the game, but it ultimately failed to meet the expectations of the company, the players, and its own premise. Some things just don't work this way.

It's like turning Resident Evil into a happy go type of Spyro game, lol, you just cannot do it and be successful.

You could, actually, with some boundaries.

I mean, come on... with how combat based TLOS was, there was no excuse for leaving out gore.

I've only played Lylat Wars on the Nintendo 64 and I think the 3DS remake already came out. However, I never got to finish the original version. I think the game has a different title in other countries.

I perfectly think it could be done. I mean, Spyro's age isn't eternally static, and most living beings need blood to survive.

Well lets be honest, theres a lot of gamers who are new to spyro, and some who are new from the TLOS series. However it ended up, spyro 1 came out for 8 year olds in 1998. 10 years later The legend of spyro dawn of the dragon came out which is like a teen game and there like 18 then. So it would kind of fit. I see why alot of people hait new spyro (i do) because it screws with there childhood. An adult spyro with blood killing and the works would be a great reboot. These reboots are getting old if there almost the same thing everytime. OOOOOOOH the skylanders are stuck in a portal of power and need to be rescued. Sound familier?

I never thought about it like that... Never made that connection.

But I'm saying a PROPERLY balanced mature game must be made. It's not supposed to be Medal of Honor. It's only supposed to be mature.

This will sound off-topic and weird but everytime I listen to Life In Technicolor by Coldplay, the music reminds me of Spyro.

No, think about it... like a FF kind of plot. Not like dark, but where some kind of message is conveyed, and the characters experience growth and maturing throughout the game.

The new ones are pretty bad, but the older ones had a lot of depth.

Spyro might even work with a turn based combat system. It's nice graphically, and I could see how it could work.

Not really. You got your Magic and your physical attacks. Physical like head charge and stuff. Over time, new stuff. Magic being fire breath and other breaths that correspond to elemental attack. As well, health system is easier to do, and items are possible.

Note that more than just Spyro could be in it.

I think a Spyro game with blood or strong language would see more grotesque for a certain audience but it wouldn't be a bad idea to create a game like that.

The CURRENT Spyro is. Spyro used to be E, and LoS was T.

Everyone definitely has a secret dark inner fantasy of an m-rated spyro game. And Im not talking about that creepy stuff where people start talking about cynder being sexy(undortunately those people do exist, but thats for another thread, and another time.

Maybe some Mild Language will be okay, but personally, I will never truly enjoy a Spyro game that's mature. I view it as the majority of the gamer part of my childhood, and love it the way it is.

I do as well, but I realize that everything does physically age...

The Arguable Ally fits into the LoS canon quite well.

Plus, there's gratuitous violence, graphic bloody descriptions of death and executions, extremely crude humor, occasional sexual content, strong language, and a thing I'm not even allowed to say on a child's website

I don't think a mature Spyro game will fit Spyro at all.
I suppose some bad language would be okay, but I don't think sex or too much gore would be good in a Spyro game.
And no, LoS was not mature just because older audiences liked it (Hell, my Dad hates LoS and loves the Classics).
