darkSpyro

What the topic title says.

I believe this is the wrong section.

I'm guessing most people here.

It gives me something to look at whilst I'm doing literally nothing, which seems to be most of the time. I'm actually trying to cut down on visiting darkSpyro, but when I do that, I just play more video games.

The site: yes. It's the only active and semi-decent Spyro fan community left, and it's the best place for Spyro game news.

The "character" (LoS): if it/he had any personality to speak of, I might, but seeing as how he was a lame palette swap and a sorry excuse to make LoSpyro even more emo than he already was... I never really cared.

The character (Skylanders): he seems pretty fun to me. I like that he's been explained and that Skyro has mastered his dark self (unlike some "heroes" I could mention ).

Sorry for being off-topic but I think it's weird how there are three different Spyros' in Skylanders. How will that affect the story?

Also, I'm wondering if you have to buy separate figures for all 3 of them?

Yes, you do - Dark comes with 3DS version, and Legendary has to be purchased in a 3 pack from TRU.

Although, 2P adventure may be weird, playing two of them at the same time.

I thought LoS Dark Spyro was pretty cute.
The Skylanders one looks alright too, but I miss the dark, smokey aura. :c

His design doesn't bother me really. But put it this way, he looks better when the camera is behind Spyro.

Yes, right from LoS. Legendary Spyro seems to be a gimmick too, but I'm biased on him being my favorite color

TLoS Dark Spyro I don't care for. I do like to play as him in TEN because of how he doesn't waste his mana so easily, and I like the dark aura on him. Otherwise I don't care for him. I found it cliche and made him seem very emo.

In response to this topic...I support all dark Spyro's, both from TLoS and Skylanders.

He showed lack of emotion in the whole game. He was merely a puppet in the game, simply doing whatever everybody told him to. He had no personality at all. It was real annoying.

His concept is too common and it makes him LOOK emo. Plus the whole "I CAN'T STOP" thing seems common and a bit emo in my opinion. :P

"Emo" is short for "emotional". You can't actually LOOK emotional with just your raw appearance.

His actions during his dark state are extraordinarily similar to what I experienced during petit mal seizures, and his mentality that he cannot control himself is also indicative of such seizures.

I better not get, "Well, there weren't strobing lights.", as an answer. There are forms of non-photosensitive epilepsy.

Nooo, that's wrong. That's a common misinterpretation, though. Heck, not everyone cuts themselves out of depression.

Goth is simply someone who wears black. Dark Spyro doesn't wear black, he is black skinned. If we have to put a stereotypical term on him, it'd have to be "*****".

And even with your definition of emo, you'd still be misusing the term. Dark Spyro doesn't cut himself, nor does he hate life.

I guess so. Although he isn't ALWAYS out of control, was he? Like in the fight with Gaul? (I do understand DotD though)

In the fight with Gaul, he was out of control. He mercilessly killed the ape. Normal Spyro wouldn't do that. When he turned Dark, Gaul was the first living thing Spyro saw, so naturally, he'd target him.

At the least, that's what was implied. Maybe I'm wrong about the scene, but only the developers know the full truth.

The first thing Dark Spyro saw was threat, in response he decided to overkill him but the manner Gaul was killed seems pretty sadistic to me..I mean turning someone into stone and then removing chunks of them before blowing them apart

I love dark spyro. I do though think he looks cheesy in his first appearence. BUT i really like how he looks in Skylanders

I like him. I forgot his abilities again, despite he's the same element as Spyro.
