Chapter XXXIII: Remnants of a lost world

Peyrite looked up at Amber saying, "How long have I been out?". Amber simply embraced him and kissed him, forking her tongue wildly in his mouth. As she ended, Peyrite said, "Good day to you too!". Amber said, "You don't know how long I've waited!", to which Peyrite said, "How long?". Amber said, "Ten long years. I never left. You were my reason for life, and I would have waited till the end of time, if only to keep alive a delusion you ever could come back.".

Peyrite said, "How did you survive?", to which Amber said, "I was eventually put on a feeding tube, and left to be. I ripped it out the moment you woke up, though.". Peyrite looked down at his hand and saw the ring Amber placed on him long ago, and said, "Did you, uh... marry me when I was dead?". Amber said, "I believed it was a symbol of a covenant I was to keep. That I would never leave your side, not even in death. A sign I was to be forever faithful to the only one ever to love me no matter what, never asked to do so.".

Peyrite said, "Though my love was not always romantic, it was always of care and compassion. No person deserves less, especially not someone as beautiful and kind a dragoness as you, Amber.". Peyrite could slowly feel his belt coming undone, and knew Amber was the one undoing it. Peyrite said, "What are you doing...?", and Amber said, "I've waited ten years, I think it's about time.". Amber slowly undid Peyrite's broken armor, unclasping his dented and battered armbands and gauntlets, and the eodoric as well.

Amber slowly pressed herself down on top of Peyrite, who was strangely comfortable with all of this, as she removed her armor and clothes. As Amber slowly ran her cheek across Peyrite's face, she softly said, "I love you, Excavenger.". As Peyrite said, "And I love you, Amber.", while he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled, pressing their bodies against each other. Amber's tail slowly curled, as Peyrite slowly hit her sweet spot, and the two dragons made love in the vernal twilight that surrounded the field.

The next morning, Peyrite awoke, Amber smiling at him. Peyrite said, "Did we-", and the dragoness answered with a widening of her grin and a nod of the head. Amber said, "You are quite impressive for an amateur. Especially considering you had lived millions of years devoid of sex.". Peyrite spawned his red coat and pants, and suitably re-clothed himself. As Amber put back on her coat and armor, she said, "I trust you enjoyed it just as much as me.". Peyrite said, "Meaning, not satisfaction, is key.".

Later that day, Peyrite and Amber entered back in the compound, completely to everyone's shock. Spyro said, in shock and excitement, "Peyrite? You're alive! And Amber, you came back!". Peyrite said, "Yes, though not exactly as before...", as he held up his left hand and showed his ring. Spyro said, "You two-", and Amber and Peyrite smiled and said in unison, "Yep.". Chyron, quite uncomfortable with that news, said, "Well, now it's going to be awkward, considering you did my mom.".

Peyrite said to Chyron, "Think of me as your father true. Whilst not your birth father, I am a father to you.". Chyron looked at Malle, knowing Malle never was much of a father to him, saying, "I guess you are right. I just hope you are more a father to me than my real father was.". Peyrite smiled and said, "More by far. By far, dear Chyron. And as a heads up, I recommend not going in our room.", as he made a wink that made Chyron cringe.

Malle said, "I do remember what happened. But I no longer care for it. In fact, I regret it more than anything in my conscious life. I want no harm.". Peyrite walked up to him and said, "Then what do you want now, Malle? Now that you have become wise, what do you truly want?". Malle said, "I want forgiveness for one. But more than anything, I just want Amber to be happy. And she can only be happy with you.". Peyrite said, "Then forgiven you are, that you respect her desires above your own, you show care by it.".

Moasane walked down the stairs, and said, "Impossible.". Peyrite smirked and said, "Believe it.". Moasane walked up to Peyrite, and he said, "You have done what no else could do. You have fulfilled the destiny of all, and destroyed this great darkness that was Axel. Forever shall this be remembered.". Peyrite said to the others, "Were it not for all of you, I would not have gotten this far. Great is my fortune, that I may have been blessed with companions like you! Great is my life, that I may have known you all!".

Spyro walked up to Peyrite, sober for once, and said, "What do we do now, then, Excavenger?". Peyrite said, "We will always have evil to fight. But let this great victory be celebrated, for the freedom of dragon and man and beast has occurred.". Amber went up to Peyrite and hugged him, head over his shoulder, saying, "Thank you. For everything. You mean the world to me Excavenger.".

Spyro said to Amber, "Top or bottom?", to which Amber replied with a swift hit. Spyro said, "PMS much?". Amber said, "Trust me, I'm not. You'd be able to tell.". Spyro said, "Would the fact your skirt not having a bottom to it be part of why?". This time, she replied with a kick. Amber said, "I love your wit, not how you use it though.".

Spyro said, "You are lucky to have a girl like that, Excavenger. Not only is she beautiful, smart, and fierce, but she would die for you. I can only hope I ever am as lucky as you are, and can have a dragoness who loves me the same.". As Amber walked to sit down, Peyrite said, "Maybe one day, Spyro. First things first, we need to do one thing.". Spyro said, puzzled, "What is that?". Peyrite laughed and said, "Get you into AA...".

And everyone laughed at the remark.

Chapter XXXIV: Epilogue

So it be. That the dragon Peyrite, whose deeds are wondrous and many, and whose place in history is legendary and vital, defeated the great demon Axel. No time existed of a merciful heart in the demon Axel, for he was never good in the slightest. Let all time know that the greatest words written in the annals of time concerning any dragon belong to Peyrite. In all the power and glory of Excavenger, eighth mightiest being, he had changed so powerfully law of nature that the way of the seven had changed.

The new soul was Levias, Ascended Dragon of Light. No small title be bestowed on Excavenger, but even in his power, the help of his allies meant everything. Amber, Spyro, Sange, Chyron, Raex, Rayin, Malle... they all had a great purpose in the realization of destiny. No one shall forget these brave souls, who dedicated their lives to what was right. Stray though some may, and guilt had they all carried, they all hold eternal place in history.

What comes next, no one knows. But in the midst of these events, a very powerful bond formed between Peyrite and Amber. They say that the act of making love is what intertwines the destiny of two and makes them one soul. But long before that occurred did an immutable bond form, a chain of destiny and love. Amber loved Peyrite for his heart, his good nature, and his will. Peyrite loved Amber for her passion, her ferocity, and her strong willed nature.

The time of peace has come, and the realms are purified. Evil has been suppressed, and light reigns. The power, honour, valour, glory, and strength to the Three, and to the souls that gave life peace. To Peyrite and his friends, all the happiness in the world, for no greater a service could they have done.

Well, gonna test the word count of this.

Now we need a sequel. ;) But, honsetly, that was great. :D

Wrath and Mercy is 71 pages total. That's twice as long pagewise as my second longest work, and 2.5 times the length in words.

Probably. Skorpion is considering uploading it to Fanfiction.net, so that is good.

Now, I never did end up discussing this aspect of W&M, but Wrath and Mercy is actually a very deep story.

It's inner message is all about the fact it is about comedy. Not the comedy we think of now, but the older meaning. Every character starts in a bad place, and struggles through their trials and tribulations, but every single one ends up a new, better, wholler person for it. Everyone suffers a great tragedy, or even several, along the way, but by the merits of their own right and just actions, each of them comes out of it better than ever, having experience growth and wisdom.

It's about the inner demons and guilt each character fights and struggles with. For Peyrite and Spyro their loved ones they killed, for Malle the destruction he wrought, for Amber her lack of defense at the most vital times, for Sange the dragons he killed, and for Chyron the many he murdered in vile hatred. Each person viciously fights a war with these demons, to maintain their will and life, and to overcome their vices.

It's about the battle within that we ALL face. The eternal conflict of Peyrite represents the endless war against our sins and wrongs, our ways we regret. That balance to be maintained. We all have our Axels, we all have our Dryncets. We wage war against the flesh, that light might win, as every character of good in the story tries. But many succumb. Many.

Wrath and Mercy symbolizes the yin-yang relationship between Peyrite and Spyro. Peyrite was of Mercy, yet quite capable of Wrath. Spyro was of Wrath, though capable of Mercy. The two maintain a balance where these values link their souls, for neither is devoid of the recessive value.

Wrath and Mercy was heavily inspired by La Divine Commedia by Dante Alighieri (Primarily Dante's Inferno), and also by La Ceccuchio Fiorenta (The Florentine Sniper), which is my only other book I have written to date. It is about the concepts of depth, passion, love. It is about the concepts of emotion, destruction, hatred. It is heavily influenced by what I consider the greatest violences against Life, Love, and Lord: Murder, Rape, Blasphemy. These three demonic vices are explicit and extreme, and are what my antagonists are about. They are completely and utterly devoid of good, and have a psychological obsession with committing evil.

Overall, Wrath and Mercy is not intended for the faint of heart. It's quite clearly intended as a very deep and serious book. It's as well of a higher echelon of reading skill than most are used to. It is, of course, quite raunchy and has significant dirty humor and sex, along with a lot of violence and innuendo. I did intend to make it so, to show the maturity of the characters, along with a tinge of juvenile nature, but to also reflect on their immense depth and meaning as characters.

Also, it was even emotional in writing some parts, like Amber's Rape, or the Death of Peyrite. I become very attached and involved with my characters, because they are a part of me, really. The former scene showed Amber as a victim of something horrifically gruesome and violent, and it reflects on the intense scars and trauma of the act. The latter shows not just the loss of the most important character, but shows Amber's incredible love, devotion, faithfulness, and heart as she would rather wait to have nature take her as dead than ever leave Peyrite's side, because she believed she had no reason to continue on in a life in which she could never be loved.

Everything about the book is about depth. I wanted to convey the extremes of the powerful events that took place. Overall, it's my best work I've ever made, a masterpiece of power and movement. And no, I did not steal ideas from TAA, Skorpion.
