Very Interesting... [CLOSED]

Closed thread reopened:

Okay, this will be awkward and more likely than not get me *shot*, but...I was put on a dare to see if it's possible SxC happened at the end of DotD...well...

I watched that clip where they played together in the Valley of Avalar...and...actually, in several dragon books I've read, as well as movies, tv shoes, and documentaries (yes, they exist); they have described dragonian mating flights as "containing moves such as loop-the-loops, barrel rolls, and 'drills' as part of the dance before anything between the male and female in a mating pair occurs."

Quite funny, as then this all implies that Spyro and Cynder were engaged in a common mating dance.

Especially since MOST things having dragons mate involves mating flights.

Looks like SxC fantards got what they wanted according to this logic.

Since this thread is reposted, here's my earlier comments in the old one:

Oiy. You don't need man bits to please a woman. Just sayin' it like it is, kids. smilie And, frankly, LoS Spyro isn't even man enough to not be pushed around by everyone he meets, so I hope Cynder isn't looking for anyone macho or that she likes telling a "man" exactly what to do. smilie

Regarding dragon mating flights...they're dragons. They aren't real. All the info you got is made up (and much of it is based on the mating habits of bald eagles or whatever Anne McCaffrey made up for her Pern books). If you're into kids (because Spyro and Cynder are legally children) getting it on, I guess you can be filthy and interpret a game of tag or flying around in freedom for joy's sake as something nasty.

Hey, Anne McCaffrey is a good author.

Eh...I wouldn't call them kids...
They're old enough to know about that crap...and they are dragons...

And Cynder apparently has breasts that I'm sure Spyro would find attractive-*sniped*

1. She is? Since when? smilie Anyone who thinks tent pegs will make you gay and that rape is the best solution to rape trauma isn't really what I'd call a good author, unless it's possible to be good at being terrible, in which case, she has been excelling for decades. smilie

2. The legal age of consent in most western countries is 18. Spyro and Cynder are 12 (or 15 if you push it, but not physically so). They would both be arrested and charged for pedophilia if they did that (it does in fact happen all the time to teenagers). And this IS a board full of under-18s, aka, KIDS. Just because you just took sex ed doesn't mean it's an appropriate discussion everywhere.

3. Why would a reptile find mammalian sexual characteristics attractive? Unless there was something seriously wrong with him. And to top it off, she's undead. This hole you're digging is just getting deeper. smilie

Well, let's get paleolithic on this now. Technically for most animals, the normal time for mating is in adolescence, so technically, that means, I suppose it's okay.

Dragons aren't human, they aren't as civilized as us, therefore, their rules and regulations on things such as that are going to be like ours....say 10,000 years ago.

To elaborate on what I'm saying, I highly doubt they have a regulations on **** like that, so imagine their current traditions, laws, rules, regulations, etc. To be like our (humans) traditions, (laws, rules, regulations, etc) back in the neolithic days.

Whilst technically true, they actually can be created through breeding of an ora and a Java bat.

I think they are closely related enough that it may actually work.
It wouldn't be a "dragon" fore-say, lacking the ability to breathe fire and probably not having wings capable of flying.

You can make a dragon if you cross an eagle, a lion, a reptile of some kind, and some other animals that's traits are found in a dragon. It's not that hard.

I'm probably horribly mistaken somewhere, but I think Oras can spray a toxin, and I think some type of bat has the ability to spray a flammable liquid from a gland in their throat to repel predators, so somewhere, fire-breathing may happen.

I once wrote how I believe dragons breathe fire...

Dragons have a "gas-bladder" that stores methane created from digestion, while we get rid of methane through flatulence, they store it. When challenged, their brain sends a stimulant to several glands lining the gas bladder, they excreet a series of chemicals that...when combined...create a spark. The spark ignites the methane, and through a series of strong mucous-coated involuntary muscles, the flaming gases are led through the throat and out the mouth. The espohagus and bladder are lined with fireproof mucous coats to prevent burning.

I assumed stomach acid would be involved, since it's closer to the esophagus and is more flammable.
spyrocynderfan7 Ripto Gems: 783
#20 Posted: 22:00:53 09/09/2011
Haha. No.

Methane is more flammable than HCl.

As a gas it is flammable only over a narrow range of concentrations (5–15%) in air.

First off, wrong on both. Oras have toxins, but it is in their saliva, which they do not spit. No bat can spit a flammable liquid of any bat known. The ora's toxin is actually approximately 57 strains of different bacteria due to unsanitary eating habits in the wild.

Second, you are right, they are likely to not be able to sustain flight. However, the Java Bat has a 6'11" wingspan (Which would be magnified by the island gigantism of oras), and oras usually don't weigh 300+ pounds but rather float between 195-240 pounds for an adult male. The reason why most of these breedings fail is inbreeding, but making separate dragons from different pairs, many from each pair, and the bat's naturally powerful immune system would counter hereditary magnifications.

So it could likely fly for distance and not height, or if you honestly want to think of it right, it's like how Spyro usually glides instead of flies. His flying and an actual dragon's flying are not sustainable for long, as they require precise and careful manipulation of aerodynamics.

And yes, I have studied this for years.

Stating Dragonriders of Pern is awful is the worst thing you could say, Anne only did three books and the others were mostly written by her Sons & Daughters.

It's explained it never was really rape as the female lead had desires for Fa'lar, when thier dragons mated it gave them a link in which both entities combined with their dragon & Rider which in turn fueled the state of lust at the time as both humans were not used to bonding so close to being combined with their dragons that the invading primal instincts from the courtship literally took their desires over.

Dragonriders of Pern is a series where dragons were genetically created after a fleeing space colony sought refugee on a planet, as they got there the planet was invaded by matter known as Thread that burned anything in it's path and was the world's version of a atomic bomb.

#39 Posted: 04:07:07 10/09/2011
The thing about Dragonriders of Pern...its not rape.

The queen (don't remember her or her rider) has risen to mate. Mating courthsip involves the queen being chased by a large group of aroused males, she mates with whoever stays flying the longest, or who catches her.

F'lar's dragon caught her, and latched onto her, connecting their wings.

Because dragons and riders are mentally bonded at the dragons' births (they share thoughts) the mating passions of the two dragons broadcasted to the riders, and thus led them to lose control of their inhibitions. Technically its not rape, the dragons literally unintentionally overpowered the riders and made them want pleasure as well. The mating emotions are so powerful.

I know, I read two of the books.

Anne McCaffrey herself wrote no less than sixteen DRoP books and it is widely known that she does, in fact, have a rape fetish. If a man or woman cannot consent for any reason or does not want to have sex, that is rape. It is said outright in several of the books that dragonriders are forced and Anne herself acknowledges that rape is a part of the books. F'lar admits to raping Lessa in the first book, Jaxom rapes a woman in the third (without his dragon's help, even), F'lessan acknowledges that Tai was raped multiple times in another book... I didn't catch this stuff when I read the books for the first time and when I was young, but the older I get, the more unsettling a lot of Anne's ideas are.

Meh. Good reads anyway.

Hehe, you don't like rape?
Don't read Stephen King, he uses language, extremely detailed sexual encounters, and descriptive gruesome scenes. I can think of four stories off the top of my head where rape occurred in a Stephen King novel/short story.

My problem with Anne isn't that she includes rape, it's that she treats like it's okay and acceptable behavior. Worse, she writes "strong" female characters who submit to it frequently. It's rather disturbing, all told. If I want to read a trashy sci-fantasy from the 60s, I tend to turn to her, but I've known for years that she's pretty nutty (all of her fans have). If you want good sf/f or even good dragon books in specific, I can make recommendations, but Anne hasn't been on those lists since I was 15. smilie
